Ok, I wanted to ask this separate from nospam's ridiculous thread in hopes
it could get some honest attention.
VB6 had a some simple and fast mechanisms for retrieving values from basic
text files, which in turn could be simply and easily maintained with
notepad.
I understand the benefits of XML, really, but in the case of configuration
files it seems it is almost always nothing more than unnecessary complexity,

Flat Files:
advantage: attach some PHP code at the top of each file that allows the
file to be opened and edited
disadvantage: the files would have to be writeable

Hello
I am developing a system for user tracking. In this I am tracking all the
visitors that came to my website. i developed this using a HTTPModule and
storing the data in a SQL Server database. Everything worked fine till my
website gets good traffic.
When website is getting good traffic, this method is slowing down the entire
application. So I am planning to use flat files instead of SQL Server

I'm used to a UNLOAD command that allows me to dump to a named flat
file the results of any SELECT statement. Hence one can build a single
SQL file which contains multiple SQL statements each of which
'unloads' to its own unique file.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
