Hi, building a database backend for a Google Map application.
Struggling along in PHP (I'm a java dude) but doing pretty good. The
code below has me confused. Both will create valid files if sent to a
file. Both display perfectly in browser when you access the script
directly. However, only the 2nd one sends readable data back to my...

It is my understanding that in order to append XML to a file you would
have to read the file in as an XML document and insert the node.
However, what if the file is close to 1GB in size? Would you require
> 1GB of RAM to deal with reading this file in efficiently?
Also, is XML an optimal solution when files get this large? I know I
can...

Hi Group,
I'm planning to write a program to find strings into an xml file
These strings could be like:
"Please Check Your Response" but user may
enter "pLease *space* cHeck Your Response"! anyway the search method
should find it.
As far as I know I have to go with RegExp class and also it should support
XML
issues as well.

I currently have an xml input file containing lots of data. My objectiv
is to write a script that reports in another xml file only the data I
am interested in. Doing this is really easy using SAX.
The input file is continuously updated. However, the other xml file
should be updated only on request.
Everytime we run the script, we track...

Thanks to some good help from a previous post, I have been able to create
well formed xml as part of a report logger app. However, I still have a
small problem. When I add new xml to the log file, the new nodes are
appended to the original file. What I really want is for the log file to
grow as "report nodes" are added. Also, I am a bit...

Hi,
I'm using in a .NET app : MyDataSet.WriteXml("myFileName.xml",
XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema);
If I'm opening the xml file in VS2005 I can see only xml, not tabular
representation of data. The same xml file opened in VS2003 has its xml and
Data tabs => everything is ok.
What is the reason ??

Hi,
Using LINQ with xml files is a breeze, much easier than working with other methods IMO.
But I've run into a bit of a snag with it.
You see, I have an xml file that look like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<merchandiser xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"...

I do a return as XMLDataDocument in my webservice but it returns not
with the namespaces etc in them. Anyone have and example where I can
have the webservice return it as a XML. C# preferred.
Flash just sees it as an object when it calls the web service.
Thanks

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
