Hey guys, I have a string like "lalala: djkahsd : dajkdassd : adasd :"
Is there a function to find the position of the "I"th occurence of a
character/string? Like lets say I want to find out the position of the
second colon. How do I go about that?? I can only find functions that
return the position of the first or last occurence, but not a variable
occurence ::sniffles::

I'm a Perlhead (there, I said it). Years ago I made a genuine
attempt to learn Python, but my intense disappointed with the way
Python deals with scopes ultimately sapped my enthusiasm. I couldn't
live without closures and without the fine control over scopes that
Perl provides.
I've been wanting to make another attempt to (re)learn Python for
a while, but this scopes business remained a major damper. What's
pushing me over my...

hi all
having designed my schema to use repeating groups of elements, I found
that some applications (eg. Microsoft InfoPath) refused to recognised
that element as a repeating element.
I subsequently found that out of the three possible ways (that I know
of) of declaring repeating elements in xsd, only one of these was
understood:

Hello everybody,
in my exam in c++ I answered that destructors may be declared private,
public or protected.
The question was: "What possible scopes (public or private) can a
destructor have?"
I got 0 for this answer, they corrected me that destructor can only be
public.
When I showed the code with private destructor and friend functions

Is it possible using any tool to get a single C file containing a
combined code of multiple C files. The single file should include the
contents of the header file.
Example if I have following files:
first.c
second.c
second.h(included in first.c)
I want a tool that would combine all the contents of these files in

Hello,
I desperately and urgently need a __working__ function, that will
replace all occurences of a substring in a string.
Prototype should be :
char *str_replace(char *str, const char *sub_str1, const char
*sub_str2)
It should take care of multiple occurences of the substring...

I have a user that is somehow managing to open multiple copies of a
single Access database. We are using Access 2003 and everything I have
tried makes it IMPOSSIBLE to open the same database more than once.
This database runs code on the execution to look into a master database
for new changes and will update the user's database accordingly. I
think I have narrowed it down to when the user is being updated, she
runs into this issue. I...

Hi,
The following might be documented somewhere, but it hit me unexpectedly
and I couldn't exactly find this in the manual either.
Problem is, that I cannot use augmented assignment operators in a
nested scope, on variables from the outer scope:
PythonWin 2.4.3 (#69, Mar 29 2006, 17:35:34) on win32.

1. Are there any problems with having, for instance, POSIX's "open"
function #defined more than once. In my case, these would be in
different static libraries:
#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif
#define open myOpenFunction1

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
