Again drawing on the groups experience:-
1. For general file opening and file saving, using VB6, are there any issues
with using the FileOpen and FileSave Common Dialog Boxes?
2. Is using the FileOpen and FileSave Common Dialog Boxes the best way to go
in general?
3. For Most of my projects I will be using the same types of data input form
and report output form, as discussed here recently. Also, the files that are

Hi, on the start page of the IDE, you see "open an existing project".
Currently I only have 4 existing project listed. Is there a place that I can
change to list more existing projects?
Thanks!

In a recent thread, RKC (correctly, I believe), took issue with my use of
multiple parameters in a Property Let procedure to pass dimensional
arguments on the basis that, although it works, it's not obvious how the
code works if you don't know the intricacies of the Property Let/Get
syntax. Likewise, I dislike (and code to minimize the use of) the VB/VBA
syntax of returning a value by referring to the function name as if it were

I came in today and tried to edit a project that I was working with,
locally, at the tail end of last week. This web project was created,
hosted, and only edited locally.
I truly cannot remember anything that I installed/changed on my
workstation that could have goofed up my IIS, but I simply cannot get
VS 2003 to be able to open an exiting or create a new web project.
I have tried the following:
* Uninstall and Reinstall IIS...

Opening an ASP.NET VS2002 project in VS2003, am getting this error:
"Unable to open Web project 'MyProject'. The file
path 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\MyProject' does not correspond to
the URL 'http://Localhost:/MyProject'. The two need to map
to the same server location. HTTP Error 404: Not Found."
I have tried fixing this using both of these KB articles and usenet
advises, still problem not solved:

I'm trying to write an ASPX page that uses an OleDbDataAdapter to get
data from a SQL Server database. When I test the connection, it
returns success, and when I preview the data using the Adapter's
"preview data" right-click option, it works, but when I load the actual
page, I get the error "Cannot open database requested in login
'cookiecutter'. Login fails."
It seems to work when I use a pre-existing database like Northwind or...

Dear Professionals,
I have recently been using the wonderful krypton toolkit and am trying
to use them in my small hobby application. I include this bit of info
as an aside really because i'm sure my question can be extrapolated to
the more general case, so here goes!
I have a box standard windows forms project. (File, New Project,
Windows Application, OK)

Dear All,
I’ve been using this forum since three weeks now and I always had the answer to my questions. So this encourages me to use it again but I hope I am not annoying anybody.
I am trying to develop databases for my company but I have little knowledge of Access, which means that I am learning while building them. I don’t post here my questions before having turned around the problem and done some research on my side. So I greatly...

Hi
I have an access database called Sales.Mdb
In vb.net 2005, I'd like to open it. Which I can do.
What I can't figure out is how to figure out if Sales.Mdb is open already.
If so, I want to open that instance.
Any ideas how I would do this?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
