Greetings,
This question does not seem to fit any of the forum headers so I picked the
most general sounding forum I could find.
My laptop is running Vista Ultimate. I use yahoo.com for business email and
use their web based email client for my business account.
Yesterday I received an email with a .pdf attachment. When I went to save
the attachment the browser window refreshed but no dialog appeared asking me
if I wanted to Open or Save the file. No error message, no strange behavior,
just wouldn't bring up the dialog for Open/Save. Last month .pdf attachments
were downloading fine from my email (I received several in October).
I went to a different email with a text attachment and it downloaded just
fine. I then went to several emails from last month that had .pdf
attachments and not one of them would download.
Adobe Reader 9 is installed and working. When I view .pdf files in Explorer
they have the Adobe icon associated with them and they open fine when clicked.
Any help with this matter (even redirection to the correct forum) would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You need to find a newsgroup with "windows" in it or similar.
This is a group for dotnet developers (and programmers)... .not a general
windows discussion forum.
Good luck.

Hello group,
I've got a script here that sends emails with an attachment to
an email address that is retrieved from an html form. The
email sending code is include below.
The problem: when sending the email to certain email servers,
the attachment section of the email gets removed and I end up
with an attachment of zero kb. Other servers do accept the
attachment as expected.

I recently installed Visual Studio 2003, after having already installed VS
2005. Unfortunately, it took over all of the file associations. There is
an option in Visual Studio 2005 to restore these associations, under Tools >
Options Environment General. However, this button doesn't seem to do
anything. Specifically, my SLN files were associated to VS 2003, and when I
clicked this, this association didn't change. I even tried deleting...

I've been googling and reading all afternoon, and can't seem to figure

Recently, I found that I had associated a file type to notepad by mistake. This file type (let's just say, it has the extension .xyz) wasn't supposed to be opened by notepad - actually, it wasn't supposed to be opened by anything at all. However, when I tried to remove the file type association like I could in previous versions of Windows, I found that I was meeting a dead end. I could change the program, no problem at all, but removing it...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
