Interoperabilit y Issue in .net client and java web service [XmlIgnore]

1 New Member
I have created a web service in java. This web service is invoked from a .net client, the proxies of which are generated by the Visual Studio.

When I create the proxies some of the properties in a generated proxy metadata are marked as [XmlIgnore] which should not be the case. Because of these properties marked XmlIgnore , they are not serialised, and hence passed on as null in the web service request.

I dont want these properties marked XmlIgnore. Is there a way to instruct Visual Studio not to mark them [XmlIgnore]

I built the example application outlined in this artical: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp? url=/library/en-us/dnservice/html/service02112003.asp There were a number of questions along the same lines posted to the page's discussion forum but no one replied with a solution. The problem I am experiencing is with the 3rd example.

Hi, I am developing a new application running on Windows platform that needs to interface with existing legacy code - written in basic C / C++. I am trying to evaluate Java vs C# implementations. Originally, I have the impression that C# should be a clear winner. I started with Java and using the guideline from the book "Java Native Interface". Though complex, the book provide details of the practical implementation and potential...

I posted for help on legacy code interface 2 days ago. Probably I didn't make it clear in my original mail. I got a couple of answers but none of them address my issues directly (See attached response). My first reply directed me to source code migration but I didn't have the source code. The second reply mentioned about .NET interoperability (PInvoke I think) but I MENTIONED THAT I COULDN'T FIND ANY DOCUMENTATION FROM MSDN LIBRARY BASED ON...

Hi all, I have been trying to find a way to send a PDF from my web service. I have had the idea of sending back a byte array, but to be honest the efficiency issue is there and i would like to find another route if possible. I have started to read bits and pieces about DIME and WSE but what i need to know is can i utilise this technology cross platform?? For instance someone who will consume this web service is coding in some form of...

Hi, I've created a web service which uses a structure that I've defined. This structure contains a string and a DateTime. When the WSDL is created the string field is assigned a minoccurs of 0, while the DateTime field is assigned a minoccurs of 1. How can I control the multiplicity of the field? More specifically, I'd like to state that the DateTime field is optional (minoccurs 0). Thanks, Zohar.

Hello and happy holidays all, I have a quick question. I just playing with interoperability, so I created a java web service (using Axis), which I am able to access with a java client, but when I try to access it with a .NET client (just an ..aspx page-I used wsdl.exe to generate the .cs file, and csc.exe to generate the dll), I get a System.NullReferenceException. Strange thing though; when using the .NET client, it is getting through...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
