Hi Newsgroup,
I'm currently using VS Ver 7.0.9466 with an OS of Server 2000 (domain
controller) Ver 5.0.2195 (Build 2195) SP4.
I have MSDN Universal and would like to upgrade my development environment
ot Server 2003 and VS 2003
Do I need to start from scratch, or will can I use Server 2003 as a simple
upgrade to my existing OS?

Hello,
I want to use a tutorial to take first steps. I use MS Visual c++ 6.0 and
Win 98. When I try to compile a "hello world" program using the <iostream.h>
library and cout << "hello world", the compiler tells me that "cout" is an
undeclared identifier. But it does not tell me that including iostream.h
causes any problems. I read in a german newsgroup that instead of
<iostrem.h>, simply <iostrem> has to be included under MS Visual C++...

Hi,
probably this is a common problem but I couldn't find yet a proper
solution (and I hope there is one).
I have two relative complex frameworks: one uses only iostream.h the
other one only iostream.
Is it somehow possible to put them together to one framework and solve
the iostream problem (also other header are effected, e.g. fstream)?
If I just change the header in one framework I get lots of errors,

Hi,
I have had a site working for the last 2 years and have had no problems
until at the weekend I replace my database server with a newer one. The
database migration went like a dream and I had the whole db changed over
in 1 hour.
Since the upgrade I have been getting the following error message
sporadically.

Hello All
Our organisation has recently upgraded its operating system to Windows
2000. Prior to this I was running Access 2000 databases on NT
machines using the Access 2000 Runtime with no problems.
Since the upgrade I am experiencing runtime errors which are making
parts of the database unusable. The database will crash when I run a
report. One of the problems relates to formating problems surrounding
reference libraries. I have...

Hi,
We are running a test upgrade form sql 2000 standard edition to sql
2005 developer edition. Followed through all the steps and specified
the account(SA priveleges and currently used by the 2000 version) and
is the local admin on the box for the services and the setup seemed to
move fine, except for when it got to the point of installing database
services - This is the error message that I got:
MSSQLServer could not be started. ...

Our technical guy says that our linux server is running PHP 4. I
thought we were running 5 already.
He says he wants to charge us £500 a year to install and support it
because it is a lot of work, and the problems it will create on our
current systems are huge etc.
Now I installed 5 on my PC at home running Apache without any problems
and develop sites locally and then upload to the server (running 4). I
have never had a problem with...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
