DHCP console shows wrong server name

Hi,

I had to rename a DHCP server running Windows 2003 in an Active Directory
environment. I also change the IP of the server. Now when I open the DHCP
console and I want to add that dhcp server from the authorized DHCP server
list, that server still shows with the "Old" name. When I click on it to add
it, it tries to connect to the server with the "old" name and the "old" IP
address. How can I make the changes that I made reflect in the DHCP console?

Thanks,

Does anyone know if VB has an exposed API that can be used to query DHCP for current address leases? I have seen threads that discuss DHCPObj.dll and have successfully used it. However, this only exposed the server's configuration, not the current address leases. I was also able to track down an interface that is exposed to C, but 1.) already have a lengthy app written in VB and 2.) don't know enough about C to write my own dll to do...

Hi Folks, I'm trying to create a c# class to manage a DHCP subnet using the win api (dhcpsapi.dll). Currently I can't even instanciate my class, instead I receive the error: System.TypeLoadException. Does anybody have experience working with this API from C# or know of some documentation/examples? Thanks in advance. steve.

I have converted a .Net 1.0 application to .Net 2.0 and the web service invocations have delay of around 10seconds on each intial access. After the first access subsequent access are fast (After a whild of inactivity the next access will be slow agian). Changing the client to static IP address instead of DHCP makes the initial access about 1 second which is fine. Monitoring the network of the client computer the cleint is sending out 2...

Hello, I'm working on an application to allow our network team to use a small application to make DHCP reservations on our Microsoft DHCP Server. The problem is you have to use P/Invoke to do it, and from what I've found on the web and in this newsgroup is that it's not easy, however I believe it can/has been done. At the moment I'm just trying to find out information about an existing

After finding nothing anywhere in google I am posting this so everyone can benefit by it. The formating is not pretty since I copied it from my word document, but you should benefit by it. Managing DHCP Servers using C# They said it was impossible. It couldn't be done. But you can in fact manage DHCP servers using C#. This includes creating and deleting Scopes, SuperScopes, Reservations, Exclusions, Options and so forth. Since the dll...

This includes creating and deleting Scopes, SuperScopes, Reservations, Exclusions, Options and so forth. Since the dll that is used was written several years ago by Microsoft, you cannot manage things on the DNS tab when looking at a reservation and few things such as that however it gives you main things you...

For starters we're using UCLinux on a blackfin (analog devices)device. I am hoping that doesn't matter and there's a general way to do this. Basically we are trying to get the name resolution to work. The hostname shows up and appears to be fine when looked at on the device. The device runs a dhcp client and obtains an IP just fine. But when we go to our dhcp/dns server, where it would say "PlaterDell 192.168.1.55" (my computer name)...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
