If the circumstances are that she has a PC purchased at retail, and this
error will not allow her to boot from a recovery CD/DVD, she has little
choice but to seek support from the vendor or manufacturer. If she can
access a recovery partition and/or recovery media supplied with the unit,
that process shaould restore the PC to as-delivered configuration and
functionality. If that is not possible...

A key question: is the PC still under warranty?
If so, return to manufacturer for repair. If not, she has to consider repair
options. Vendor service or local independent service.

If your (her) circumstances are different from my guesses, please provide
detailed information.

Using VS 2003, VB. Net, MSDE... Usining task sheduler, I wish to mute the volume in the .bat file that task scheduler runs (windows XP Pro). I don't see anyway to do this via a .bat line command (if there is, please let me know). So the next option would be to write a small .net program that would do it and run that via task scheduler. ...

Ok I am not a programmer, I copied some code and very painfully got it working in VB6. I can adjust the volume with waveOutSetVolume on winmm.dll. But I could not seem to be able to figure out how to adjust the master volume. I thought maybe if I upgraded this into VS2005 VB.Net then it might be a little easier. But now I am getting...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
