Translation using Word Automation

3 New Member
How can I translate words from one language to another (say English to German) using MS Word proofing tools through MS Word automation in C# ? I want to give single word (or text) as input and get its translated word (or text) as output.

Have you tried looking at globalization? Maybe you could adapt something like this:

Globalization can only make my content visible in different languages but doesn't do translation. I want to accept a word from user (say in English) and provide its translated word as output (say in German).

Can you help me?

I need to read some (about 15,000) word documents and add some wrappers around them for importing into a database. What is the best way to read a ..doc file in VB? I would like to save the formatting as .RTF so it can be included. I can do this in Word VBA, but I would prefer to do it in straight VB (either VB6 or .Net). Thanks for any help on this.

I know that using Word Automation inside an ASP page is no good idea. Anything I want to do in the current project is: open document, change some text, save and close document. Basically changing some variables, consting of a name embraced by special chars, to some value. As for example: change "" to "Michael". Does anybody know whether there is a way for achieving this with basic "file input / output". Can I regard a Word document as...

I have an application that has an Access table that stores the locations of slides in a Powerpoint file. This used to work fine when there were about 4 files and 200 slides. The database would open all four PPT files at once, and would loop through queriers for ever client and create custom presentations. Now there are 8 files, nearly 500 slides and the computer is bogging down with trying to open them all at once. I know that Access...

Heres and interesting problem: I have a VB.NET program that creates reports via. Word Automation. This all works fine. What I want to do as part of this report generation process is to embed a graph/chart within the report, once again from VB.NET. I have chosen to use Excel.Chart.8. So, to embed I do this from VB.NET: Dim theNewShape As InlineShape = m_Document.InlineShapes.AddOLEObject (ClassType:="Excel.Chart", _

I currently get the error "File or assembly name Microsoft.office.interop.word or one of its dependencies was not found". TIA Charles

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
