Connect a VCR to Vista Media Center via SCART and Pinnacle Hybrid

Hi.
I have a PC running VISTA Home Premium 32 bits SP1 (AThlon 64 x2 5200, 2
giga RAM, Radeon 8600 GT 512).
As TV tuner I have the PINNACLE PCTV Hybrid Tuner Kit, that include a
connection for S-Video and Audio/Video connectors.

Now, as far I understood during the tests I did yesterday, the VCR should be
connected as 'Cable' - 'Set Top Box'. Is this correct?

The second question: when connecting a Set Top Box, Media Center asks for
configuring the remote control. I do have all the stuff to install the remote
control, coming with the TV Stick, but for space problems I cannot use it.

Is there a way to skip the 'remote control' configuration step, and go
directly to see the signal coming from the VCR?

Many thanks indeed for your help.

Not close at all. You need to find a group with "vista" in the name.

E.g. microsoft.publi c.windows.vista .hardware

Does this have all of the features of xp pro such as IIS, and other things required by asp.net developers or am I going to have to Install Windows XP Pro? Is there any list of what xp pro has that media center does not? Is media center based on xp pro or xp home? Thanks,

Due to an earlier posting I read in this newsgroup regarding Office 2007 beta, I downloaded it. After I DL'd it, I got an invitation from MS to get WinVista. I am now wondering if, since both are betas, it is best to buy a new computer? My current computer setup is a Pentium 4, 1 gig memory, 2.66 ghz, 60-80 gig disk drive. MS's requirements for a WinVista computer is A modern processor (800mz)

Hi I have installed Vista Ultimate on a new XP box, without setting up the Windows Media Player, I use the msdxm.ocx component in my VB 6.0 application. After installing Vista and then running Windows Media Player 11.0, the msdxm.ocx is only 4k in size and normally it is 484k, so my app doesn't player any .avi files in it. And I can't copy the old msdxm.ocx into c:\windows\system32 folder, does WiMP or Vista not handle this component anymore,...

I tried to install Python 2.51 on Microsoft Vista Ultimate 32-bit because I use the 3D modeler software Blender 2.44, in case I needed additional Python support in the future for add-on scripts. I got a warning about "files in use" during installation that needed updating. I aborted the install since the files were Intel Viiv and Microsoft Vista Media Center related so didn't want to mess them up. Can someone explain why Python wants to...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
