This topic was widely discussed before but somehow I still have no idea how
to fix the problem.
I've a C++ class which resides inside DLL and has some STL members inside.
The EXE uses STL vector of my classes and get run time crash on the
destructors in the RTLValidateHeap function.
The knowledge base Q122675 article explains the situation. However the
solution offered by Microsoft on declaring constructor and destructor inline
does not...

I am working in a team environment and we have followed
the single solution model for our developement. We are
about 25% of the way through our project and Visual
Studio is taking 5 minutes to build the entire solution.
The machines that we are using are 1.8 Ghz with 512 Mg of
memory.
We have considered switching to a partitioned solution
but we feel any UI layer forms will still take a long
time to build because for the references to...

We have a huge project, the solutuion spans 50 projects growing. Everytime I
want to start the project I have to wait nearly over 1 minute for the
compiler to complete building. This is unaccaptable.
I thought about loading only the project I need into visual studio and not
the whole solution. The problem is that the compiler tells me it cannot find
the referenced dlls (project references) although they are all lying in
their bin and obj...

I'm compiling a c# csproj project from the command line. However, I'd
like to pass in different defines to that project for different times
that I build it. I don't see any parameters on devenv command line
interface that seem to allow this. Should I be using something else
to compile the csproj file that would allow me to pass in preprocessor
defines?
i tried using nant but the <solution> doesn't seem to have anythign
that allows...

Hello,
Using ASP.NET v2.0.40607.42, I'm attempting to create a new file
extension that should be handled exactly like "aspx" pages. For
example, I just want to rename an aspx page from "test.aspx" to
"test.extx", where .extx extensions are handled in exactly the same way
as aspx pages.
In pre-2.0 versions of ASP.NET, simply adding a HttpHandler element
(below) to web.config, and adding a IIS mapping of "extx" to

I have one VB.NET project, that outputs a "Mycomapny.exe" everytime I do a
build. But I need it to output 4 different executables everytime I build.
How do I archive this. I am looking at the Project Properties & the
Configuration manager. The configuration manager lets me create any number
configuration.. but I can seem to choose a different assembly name for each
configuration.. How can I do this?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm new to this group, and recently downloaded the MS Express package
for C/C++. I tried to install and run some of the sample programs, and
get a peculiar error.

I am a bit confused with the difference between building and publishing a
website using asp.net 2.0.
Currently I build the website up to the server (in the config manager this
is in "Debug" configuration). What is the consequence of doing it this way?
The website works etc but I read that the performance of the website can be
impacted because building it in debug configuration causes the website to not
cache scripts or something like...

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to build all projects in a VS.net
solution from the command line without having to open the solution and
tick every project in the configuration manage?
I currently am aware of the command to build from the command line
<VS.net location<.sln file locaion/rebuildall /release

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
