Weird error message when changing password in Active Directory

When changing a user's password in Active Directory Users... I get a strange
error message (and the password change fails):

Windows can not complete the password change for the user <insert user name>
because:
The system can not find the file specified.

Also can not add users.

However: NO EVENTS are being generated associated with this message in any
of the event logs...

Anyone have any idea WHAT file is missing? I have searched Microsoft.com
from one end to the other and can't find this error message.

(This started when the disk filled up about a week ago...)

Thanks,

Ed Otto

My php logs are coming up empty. I have done all I can think of, and all that made sense to me. Can someone take a look at my php.ini please and tell me what you think may be the problem. I double-checked the path to my error log. It is in /var/www/logs/php_error_log Thanks. :) -Wayne Stevenson

Hello I posted a thread about this a while back, but I can't actually find it again so I can reply to it with the solution I found, so I'm making a new thread and hoping it goes to the top of the Google search results for the error like the previous thread. This is actually a solution to a problem, not a call for help, so you can stop reading now unless you're actually interested in the solution :)

We recently installed the .Net framework on a windows 2000 server. Shortly after that we experienced intermitant problems running a web based program that accesses an Access 2002 database. The intranet .asp program works, but as soon as it tries to access the database for normal users, it gives us an "unspecified error" and that it can't access the data base. As the administrator, I found my access was relatively stable. Anyone else...

I have an ASP.NET page that searches for someone in the corporate Active Directory. It had been working fine until recently when I changed from Basic Authentication on IIS6 back to Integrated Windows authentication. The error occurs on the FindAll method. The exceptions are as follows. anyway of getting the code working with Integrated Windows authentication (too annoying for user to enter user-name/password). Note I do need to use...

Hi, I'm quite frustrated in the fact that I can't even display a simple "Hello World" message on .Net. I've been through all of the groups and searched all over the place and haven't been able to figure out the solution to this problem. First off, the server is Windows Server 2003 - Web Edition (IIS 6) and I'm using .Net Framework v1.1.4322.

Hello all, My ASP.NET application seems to have intermittent problems when connecting to Active Directory server. Most of the time the Active Directory app works fine then suddenly fails and will repeatedly occur for a period of time then start working fine again. ASP.NET application uses windows authentication. I am attaching the code for reference: -----------------------------

Hi. Let me immediately declare - I'm a designer/owner of a website written in jsp pages running under Apache Tomcat 5.5.25. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
