Hi,
W H A T
I am considering moving my windows app written in Visual C++ 6.0 to C# .NET.
Q U E S T I O N
I was wondering if application speed will be a problem in .NET when compared
to a VC++6? Am I going to take a big performance hit?

Hello,
I made a small app that has those nice moving panels like Visual Studio has.
Now all goes fine until I open one of them that has a lot of child controls
in it. Actually it has one tabcontrol with two tabs, first tab without child
controls the second with (20+) child controls. Now opening and closing it
with the first tab visible goes fine, but when selecting the second tab the
opening shoks. It moves the panel 30 pixels and than...

Hi
I've developed a web service that allows people to easily set-up their own
websites, and keep them up-to-date themseves. It's all done in standard ASP
and SQL 2000.
You can see it here: www.up-to-the-minute.com
It's still early days but if I'm going to convert to asp.net I guess I
should do it soon.
Can anyone suggest the top 3 benefits I'll get from doing the conversion now

Hi
I have a math kinda problem where I'm trying to split some lines when two or
more lines connect two shapes. The reason I am doing this is to make it
clear that there are multiple lines connecting the two shapes.
http://www.blackwaterbadgers.co.uk/image1.bmp
Image 1 shows how if you have a line between two shapes, the line is
straight. if you have more than one line, the lines will start overlapping

We are moving from ASP.Net 1.1 to ASP.Net 2.0. As we do not have the luxury
of spending weeks trying out different techniques, I'd like to rely on some
tried and true methods, but need some feedback so we don't stray too far
from best practices.
ASP.Net User Controls (ascx files)
Our team is very comfortable with the use of ASP.Net User Controls which do

Hi,
I am using Mutliview control, and want to move a user control from one view to another view based on user selection. I can do this by placing a "Placeholder" control in each views. Based on the user selection, remove the control from the placeholder and add to annother placeholder as:
Me.divViewHome.Controls.Remove(Me.DiySearchSide1)
Me.divViewResults.Controls.Add(Me.DiySearchSide1)
For the first time when moving the usercontrol to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
