Get Ip Client With Content Switch Between Client And Web Servers.

1 New Member
Hi All,

In my ASP.NET application I am using client IP, I was using

"Request.Server Variables["REMOTE_ADD R"]" to get client IP. But my
servers to under Cisco content switch for load balancing. Now
"Request.Server Variables["REMOTE_ADD R"]" or "Request.UserHo stAddress", both returning Content switch IP instead of client IP. Is there any way I can get client IP from C# under load balancing mode?

Thanks in Advance,

Vitor Pereira

Does this offer anything different:
Request.UserHos tAddress

It sounds like your cisco router is "re-producing" the requests on behalf of the actual client (to do the load balancing) I would *think* that it would expose the true originator in one of the headers sent to you somewhere. Have you debugged out all the data that gets sent to your application in the request? Like all the headers and such?

I'm working on a client-server application where the client is controlling two devices (aka servers) which both implement the same interface contract. We have a set of about 4 assemblies which specify the interfaces and the data types which flow through the interfaces. Initially, we thought this would be enough for the client to talk with the server. In general it is, but when an exception is generated by the server it fails to...

I'm writing an html page with some JavaScript that reads a web page into a client-side temp file, then reformats it, then submits that same file as a URL to the browser for display, via "locate.replace". I can do all this if the html page containing the script originates on the client machine, but don't know how to get access to a client-side temp file when the same html page containing the script is on a web host. How do I get access...

I am building a website with identical content in four different languages. On a first visit, the search engine determines the language of the content by the IP address of the visitor. What the user sees is content in only one language at a time. He or she can then switch to another language and set this as the preferred language, but again he or she sees content in only this one other language. The question now is: How do I get search...

We've fooled around with Access a bit, but only using the single-user store-bought version. It seems to be a good database - versatile and infinitely programmable - and can apparently be used as a front end to SQL server if we ever needed to go that route. But - is there a client/server version of Access ? Looking on the CDW site there is a bewildering variety of packages and licences and such, but we can't figure out just which do...

Hi, I want to develop an ASP 2.0 Web control that would be just like an update panel (to use with a tab control), so when the user makes a request, the content of the page is loaded dynamicly without the need of a postback... Client callback seems right in the situation except for one thing... How can I register javascript from custom controls when using the client callback feature? I mean, I can send all the render result through an...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
