Instead of using -pef try using -pe

Eg:

aspnet_regiis -pe "connectionStri ngs" -app "/WebAppDirectory " -prov "DataProtection ConfigurationPr ovider"

Please post your error message.

I have a web server with both v1.0 and v1.1 of the .NET Framework installed. I'm referencing this article (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=820106) to "tell" my web server to run my web application using v1.1. From: WindowsDirectory\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\ I should run aspnet_regiis -s W3SVC/1/ROOT/AppName at the command line. My application is configured as a web site in IIS, rather than a virtual directory under the...

On one of my localhost sites I'm getting a message to run aspnet_regiis -c to correct some scripting issues. When I try to run the listed command I get another error: "You must have administrative rights on this machine in order to run this tool." I have verified that I have administrative rights on the box as my normal login. I have also logged in as the local administrator, tried the same thing and get the same message.

Hi, Having been flamed for my previous HEEEELP! post and called childish, I decided to reframe this problem - I have to have something ready for tomorrow morning, and my server has stopped working and I have no clue how to fix it, hence my original post, sent from a place of severe stress. I rebooted my box for no particular reason other than I had decided to reboot my router. When XP had sorted itself out, I loaded Dev Studio 2003...

When you run 'aspnet_regiis -c', the aspnet_client directory is created under EVERY web site on the IIS server. It seems strange that there doesn't seem to be any way of running the command so that it only installs the aspnet_client directory under a specified web site or even just the .net web sites on the server. I'm running several production IIS servers that have got a mix of .net and non-.net web sites on them and I don't want the...

I've been beating my head against the wall trying to do what appears to be really straight forward. I've been attempting the Walkthrough: Creating and Exporting an RSA Key Container (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2w117ede.aspx). Steps 1-3 work fine but step 4 fails every time: 1. Create new machine-level RSA key container works just fine (aspnet_regiis -pc "MyKeys" -exp) 2. Grant Read Access to an RSA Encryption Key works...

I'm getting the "Failed to access IIS metabase" error so I tried to run the aspnet_regiis utility to set the permissions (aspnet_regiis -ga username). However, when I run this command all it does is display the list of command options. I'm running on WinXp SP2. I tried to run aspnet_regiis -t but I get the same page of command options. Anyone know what's happening?

Folks, In using the aspnet_regiis –ga command I'm running into an issue. I'm using this command against a domain account e.g. aspnet_regiis –ga MyDomain\ayott and it works fine. If I perform the command against another domain account it doesn't do anything but show all the options. I'm running XP SP2 but I'm got a virtual machine with Win2003 loaded up and I get the same exact results. Does anybody know why I can't use this command...

I am working on a hosting control panel. I am adding support for multiple server and would like to know if aspnet_regiis.exe has a switch for the server name. For example, I have an ASPX page running on server1, where the control panel is located. The client wants to update the .NET framework version of www.his-website.com, which happens to be running on server6. If I do System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("aspnet_regiis -s W3SVC/234234234/...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
