OK, ASP.NET websites have to be served. What I mean is that it's not like HTML where you can just load it up in a browser. You have to host it on a webserver. Typically IIS.

Here's a tutorial I just looked up that should help you set up IIS on a windows XP machine.

Hi

Sorry for posting the same question twice.

I have successfully executed my website in opera and mozilla firefox with your instruction.

My another question is, I executed my website in Internet explorer in which i have signout option in various pages and when the user signs out, the previously visited pages will not be shown to the user.He will be brought back to home page.

But in opera and firefox, the previously visited pages are shown to the user but when the user presses any controls in that pages then the home page is shown to the user to login again to user those controls.

Why is it so and what is the solution for it?

Please help me....

The problem is one of caching. The browser caches the previous pages. I can't remember how to force no cache right now...sorry. I'll do some looking.

Using Visual Studio 2005 and have a website project in asp.net 2.0. Everytime I publish it, I have to enter in the URL. Is there a way for VS to remember this setting? It will remember it so long as I have the project open. But if I close VS and go back in, it gets "amnesia"

Hello I'm asking myself what the best practice is, when publishing a asp.net 2.0 website. So when I precompile the website, to put it online, i get a lot of DLLs and ascx/aspx files. So i put them online, and all works, so far, so good. But the question is now, when I make a simple change in a .cs-File, then I publish again the website, to get all precompiled dlls, so I have to upload again all DLLs, ok, that's ok, but I also have to...

Hi, I have a website http://www.projectvtu.com Now this website has frames in all of its pages. The problem I am facing now is that the website works very well on my subnet at home. But, I have started gettin complaints that the pages are not being displayed completely from a few people. They are also using IE 6.0 which I knew upon enquiry. I think the problem could be with the frames. But at the same time I know that IE 6.0 supports...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
