Listen to multiple Web Services using only one Web Reference

2 New Member
Using Visual Studio 2005, language is C#

What I did so far was add a web reference, with this I can listen to a web service and receive an XML file with updated data and store relevant data off to a database.

What I am trying to do use the same web reference I added but change the url connection string and listen to multiple web services.

My experience with web services is very limited, so please bear with me. I have looked at some examples on the web, programmaticall y adding web references sees like overkill and way above my knowledge of web services. It seems like with WSDL specification being the same on the web services I could create a collection of SOAP objects. All I am doing with these web services is listening for messages and storing relevant data to a database.

The number of web services that will be listened to will be in a configuration file, which could be different for every client.

Everything works with listening to one web service.

Thanks,
Matt

I wrote a service that listens for broadcast messages from my firewall (UDP snmp trap messages) and parses and puts the data in an database. I'd also like to write an app that is a simple form that can listen in when it runs (so I can see messages in a form as they occur.) So I need the ability to listen to a UDP port with two apps at the same time (the service and my app). But when I do that I get an error:...

Hi guys, When I am adding a Web Reference in Visual Studio.net, I provide the url to the .vsdisco file, so that Visual Studio.net can dynamically discover all the available Web Services. Now when I do this, I get a list of all the Web Services. Next I want add reference to all these Web Service to my Visual Studio.net project, and so I hit "Add reference" button on the Add Reference dialog box. By doing this I THOUGHT all the Web...

I am trying to use a web service from a non Microsoft product. When I do a "Add Web Reference" from the Visual Studio dialog box, a request is generated and received by the web services supplier. This request contains information in the "Authorization:" header. Valid WSDL is returned and the dialog box correctly shows the services and methods available. However, a second request is also sent to the WS supplier for the same information. This...

I've got two web services that use the same data types and that clients will have to consume. I read the msdn article on sharing types (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnservice/html/service07162002.asp) but I don't want clients to have to add two web references and then manually have to edit the proxy classes. After doing some searching I found that putting references to multiple web services in a .disco...

Help. :) I have 4 large web services, in which in part of each contains the filling of the same class. I want to print all the information from this class, but it can't implicitly convert the type of the web service class to the other web service class. I'm sure this is confusing, here's an example: Web services 1, 2, 3, and 4 all contain the class PrintData. Each populate the class differently. The local client application can call...

Hi all, I've apparently tied myself up a bit using the logging package. In my project, I have a core set of model and controller classes that set up their logging using logging.fileConfig(). So far, so good. But I use these core classes from a bunch of different places. Sometimes from within a CherryPy server, sometimes batch jobs run from a command line, sometimes from Windows services (also written in

Hi, I have a solution with multiple web services that share the same typed dataset. Each time I add a reference to a web service to a client application it creates a new web refrence class that includes an imported version of the XSD for the typed dataset. Each web service reference then has its own typed data set class . Even though the dataset is the same each web service reference refers to it via a different namespace. How do I get...

I have a Timer class set to trigger every second. The Tick function that is called every second uses a lock to prevent multiple ticks from executing the same code at the same time. The code within calls a Visual Basic input message box, which is synchronous, it waits until you enter some input, and press enter. But, this message box pops up every second regardless if the old ones have finished. The timer's Tick function is called over...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
