Problem opening excel 2003 file from visual C# 2005

1 New Member
Hi,

I am quite new in C#. I am writing an application in which I have to open Excel file to import data from it. When opening small files everything works ok - the problem appears when I try to open larger one (14 MB) - the excel stops working while doing it.

I tried to cope with it by changing last parameter in xlApp.Workbooks .Open() function to xlExtractData. Excel opens file and everything seems to work fine, but an annoyinig warning appears:

"Errors were detected in 'filename.xls,' but Microsoft Excel was able to open the file by making the repairs listed below. Save the file to make these repairs permanent.

Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not possible. Excel attempted to recover your formulas and values, but some data may have been lost or corrupted."

When I open this file by hand, everything is ok.

Please help me with this

I recently upgraded from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET 2005. I have several projects that I created in Visual Studio .NET 2003, but when I try to open them in Visual Studio .NET 2005 it tries to force me to convert them. for some of these it would be fine, but some of them run on servers that do not support .NET 2.0 yet, I simply want to edit the code remotely but not convert anything. How can I prevent Visual Studio .NET...

I am trying to create a DLL in Visual Studio 2005-Visual Basic that contains custom functions. I believe I need to use COM interop to allow VBA code in Excel 2002 to access it. I've studied everything I can find on COM Interop and .NET. I've also tried many of the 'Walkthroughs' on the MSDN site relating to COM add-ins, .NET and Office XP but am unable to get even these working in Excel 2002 or Word 2002. I've installed the Office XP...

>From an asp.net web page I want the user to open the results of a SQL query in Excel, as automatically as possible (ie not having to loop through columns, rows, in code). For this, dataset.writexml works great (got the code from http://forums.devx.com/archive/index.php/t-57273.html ) The only question I have is, when Excel opens up, it isn't the view I would prefer. It opens as a read-only workbook, I would prefer as an

I have several Excel files which I need to import into a SQL server. Hi all, I am experiencing a strange thing happening with a "designer.vb" page. Controls I manually declare in this page are automatically deleted after I drop another control on a ".aspx" page. - Why is this happening? - Can I disable automatic declaration and have everything be declared manually? - Any other options to fix this? Thanks in advance. Goran Djuranovic

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
