retaining the state of the aspx page.

63 New Member
Hi everyone,

I have a question about maintaining the state of the page in a web application. I am not that aware of what should be done here. I want the page to retain all its values when user navigates to another page and gets back to that page again.

for example say i have a form and user fills it and does not save it he will be navigated to another page saying you have not saved changes do you want to continue? when he cilicks yes he has to get back to the same page with all the values in it just the way he entered them before.

I know this is possible but i have no clue how to implement this. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ayush.

I have a page that reads values from an XML file to display to the user. The page also has a control panel that allows administrators to update the XML file with new values. When an administrator presses the update button in the control panel area of the page and the values are written to the XML file, I want the page to reload with the new values WHILE RETAINING ANY VIEW STATE VALUES. (that are not rewriten by the new XML values) I have...

We are in the process of upgrading part of a large system to .NET, whilst the majority will remain ASP. Sharing session state information will not be a problem at the moment as it is trivial and will be passed in using QueryString. More pressing is the synchronisation of session timeouts between the two environments. Is the only way to do this to have URL references from one environment to another. For example on the ASP pages have...

I have an intranet app that has just started sporadically getting the following error "The viewstate is invalid for this page and might be corrupted." By sproadic I mean 3-4 times during the past two days out of 100's of hits. The error just started yesterday and this app has been running for quite some time without this error and has not been updated just before or after the error started. Reseaching this error I've checked the...

I have a page with several server controls placed on there at design time, including a blank table control. During runtime I add some controls to the table, including some checkboxes, which I called ch() as checkbox. the user would then check some of them and click a button. the event handler for the button would save the checkbox checked state to a database. but as soon as the button is clicked, ch() is nothing. all the other

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
