Replacing Office 2007 with 2003

Before I delete my trial version of Office 2007 and install 2003 do I need to
back-up all of my files or will they be saved and then just automatically
open in o3 after it's installed. Also what else will I need to download to
enable 03 to work with Vista?
Thanks

The files should be saved. I have 2003 on Vista without any issues, and I
don't recall any office SP's for Vista.

That said, you will probably get better answers from a group such as
microsoft.publi c.office.misc, as this group
(microsoft.publ ic.dotnet.gener al) is for .Net programming issues.

Try a more suitable newsgroup. This newsgroup is for Microsoft ".NET"
programming questions.

I am already at the 3rd tier of MS and they cannot figure this out yet.. Bought Office 2007 Small Business Upgrade. Install completed the first time (only), yet each time you start Outlook, Word or Excel, the windows installer starts again. You can successfully cancel out of all the pop-ups and eventually get to the program, but something is not right. Plus - Business contact manager does not work nor does Accounting Express. Here is what...

I need to determine if Excel 2007 is installed. For Office 2003, we had the component ID for Excel 2003 and could use the msi.dll to enumerate and that would tell us if it was installed: iRet = MsiGetComponentPath(sProductCode.Trim, sComponentID, sPath, iLen) sProductCode is the Office 2003 Product Code, sComponentID is the Excel 2003 component ID. sPath would hold the path to excel.exe.

I am developing a VB.Net application with VS 2005 that opens an Excel workbook and populates the worksheet with data. I started developing the application with Office 2007 installed on my Vista OS, but after I discovered that it won't run on a system with Office 2003, I uninstalled Office 2007 and installed Office 2003. I reset the reference in .Net to the Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library. The application works fine from the ..Net...

Hi! I am developing an ASP application on a local machine with MS Office 2003 while the server we are testing it on has MS Office 2007. In visual studio i have added a reference to Microsoft Excel 2003 Object library. I am having some problems with ASP trying to open or save Excel files on the server. Could this be due to me not having the correct reference? Is there any way to add the reference to Excel 2007 without installing Office...

Hi, In my office I have Office 2003 on the PC. I created an Access application which has a component reference to Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library. The problem that I am having now it that in my home PC I also have Office 2003, but I only have Microsoft Office 11.0 Object Library in it and not Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library, so the application does not work right.

Office 2007 & thus Access has had it's menus replaced with the Ribbon Bar. It's very disconcerting. In Word, Excel, Access, I feel totally lost. Also all the shortcut Menu pulldowns don't work anymore ... eg Alt F-S to save a file Alt F-U for Page Setup in Word/Excel etc. etc.

I have a question for Beth Melton. Hello. This is Ray. I read an answer you graciously gave to another user about the constant popping up of "Windows Installer - Preparing to install". I cannot find anything to eliminate this headache and would be grateful for your insight and suggestions. Many people suggest running something like Windows Install Clearner (not sure that's the correct name), but on the ms website about it, we are...

I developed an Access database on my laptop, which has Access 2003. The workstations in our office have Office 2007 installations, which did not include Access (Student and Teacher edition possibly?). Since we all "grew up" with Office 2003 and earlier, even quick adapters feel a bit like lost puppies, full of "Where did they put THIS function???" in Office 2007. The (cough) terms of endearment for Office 2007 have been... colorful. :-P ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
