I would like to Exclude MyApp.Exe.Config from my Setup
Package as I don't want it to get overwritten during
upgrade installation of my application.
If I remove app.config while building the setup, it
removes existing app.config on the target machines and if
included, it overwrites the existing ones.
I tried editing the msi package and removing the
app.config file from the table but it did not work. Any

Hi,
I need to dragdrop message items from Outlook (2002 and 2003) to my
application.
I successfully implemented DragDrop from Explorer to MyApp but I didnt find
how to properly code DragEnter/DragDrop events to handle Outlook objects?
When Outlook objects are dropped on Explorer, a file is created with the
subject as the name. I would like to recreate a similar behavior in MyApp.

Hi,
I'm wondering if somebody knows how to change the application config file
from code. I just need to change a value in the appSettings section from
"true" to "false", but it doesn't seem like it's easy to do.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I have a click once winform application which includes myapp.application
file. The myapp.application contains the server url. The myapp.application
file gets signed before deployment. Everything work great if my only target
is my QA server.
Here's the first problem: the guys that run the servers won't take a
different MSI for QA and Production. If there's a single byte different on
the MSI, they just won't accept it. They want me to have...

Hi to everyone
At the moment, I am converting a .Net 1.1 application to 2.0. As the
My.settings did not exist in the 1.1 framework, the "101 VB.NET Sample" "How
to configuration settings" was used.
At the moment, the App.exe.conf is stored under "Program Files\MyApp". As
read/write access is needed to the Application configuration file, I have to
change the current approach to get the application running under Windows
Vista.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
