Hi All,
I build an ASP .NET web site using VB.NET the website works perfect in my computer.
Now I am ready to deploy on my customers server, and I already did that.
I copied all the files inside my virtual directory and copy them to the wwwroot of my customers server.
When I open the IE browser and I request the Login page it is retrieved, but two things happen.
1.- I have a label where I display the current date and it does not...

Hello,
I have created many sample web sites for testing and now I would like
to do some cleanup.
When doing searches, it seemed that there were a good number of
approaches to removing a web site / application from Visual Studio -
some mentioning the use of IIS.
Is there an official suggestion on how to remove unwanted sites

I recently upgraded to from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET
2005. In Visual Studio .NET 2003 when I would select 'Build' it would add a
*.dll with the name of the Project to a /bin/ folder in the same directory
as the source code. However, in Visual Studio .NET 2005 when I selected
'Publish Web Site' and selected a target location to place it in, it placed
the following files in it:
All *.aspx files
All *.html files

We've inherited a number of applications and one of them lives on its
own server, in the default website. Looking at IIS, the aspx and other
files are in the default website entry. All the applications that I've
written go to virtual directories under the default website.
One of my co-workers installed the application on a test server and
broke the other application that we were testing (mine I might add).
Since I've never used the...

I can't believe what is happening on my computer right now.
I have a web project, file-system based on something like
c:\Projects\ProjectX\www\.
I had to make some changes and testing in a separate new directory so I
created c:\Projects\ProjectX\www2\ copied all the content and build. I
made the changes I wanted and test, everything worked fine.
I'm using the Development Webserver, not IIS.
But when I hit "Publish website", it failed...

I also have this issue.
If, like VS2005, i would have expected the Web Application to compile all
the code into a single DLL file. This does seem to happen and the DLL is
there in the Bin folder but i get the same parser error when attempting to
open the website after deploying to a web server. I wonder if it is also
just a cooincidence that it is a master page code file that is being searched
for. My master page file is in a sub...

Okay, I already made this post, but it kinda got lost. So anyway I need to
figure out how to test if the user is able to connect to a specific website.
Last time I got pointed to the urllib2 page, but if I do urlopen() and and
am not connected, the program stops. So I don't know if that was what you
guys wanted me to do, but I don't think so, you guys are smarter than that.
So, how can I test for connection to a website.

well I can tel you it didn't work for me. In fact I didn't see the code you
posted on there, I ended up figuring it out on my own with a little help
from the missing manual for urllib2. Also, being rude is kinda stupid
because you don't have to help in the first place...

Hi All,
This is a bit off-topic but may be of interest to some
people. I have just found a website that looks interesting. It lets
companies register their products for beta testing, and testers
specify what sort of products that they would like to test.
Sort of a beta testing dating service - Membership is free.
It look like it is just starting out, but is a promising concept.

Hello guys,
I want to do kinda of an A/B split testing on a website I run. I just
created a new version but I need to keep both version running and see
which one will perform better. First, I'm not sure if I'm in the right
group.
How can I randomly let a user enter from the index.php page and keep
the same URL. So the splitting is being done in the backend, I don't
want the users to see for example in the url /new/index.php and /...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
