Parse GeoTiff files to get Tie Points

1 New Member
I need to parse a tiff image and get the tie points (Lat/Long coords) to place on a map. Does anyone know how to do this using C#.NET?

Hi, I am trying to use Python to do the following: - read in an image in geoTIFF format - extract the tags from the file - do something interesting with the tags I've read about the Python Imaging Library (PIL) which seems to do what I need with TIFF files. I was wondering if anyone knows if this

Hi all-- I've succeeded in using the PIL (Python Imaging Library) to read a simple GeoTIFF file and to extract data from the file's GeoTIFF key-- but I'd also like to write GeoTIFFs, and there doesn't appear to be a one-step way of doing that. I suspect, first, that -writing- a GeoTIFF file with PIL means poking around in the PIL TIFF plugin file which I'm a little wary of doing. Also, I don't see any clear description in the PIL...

I have a set of, say, 2000 points in the 8-dimensional simplex S={(x_1,x_2,...,x_8),x_1+x_2+...+x_8=1, x's>=0}. To help analyze that 8-dimensional set, I wish to project the set of points onto each of the 'faces' {x_i+x_j+x_k=1} for the 56 choices i,j,k, that is, i=1 to 6; j=i+1 to 7; k=j+1 to 8. Finally, use gnuplot to load and plot each of the 56 files of 3-d points. I have C code that will, for given i,j,k, find the projection...

Here is an example of the type of data from a file I will have: Apple,4322,3435,4653,6543,4652 Banana,6934,5423,6753,6531 Carrot,3454,4534,3434,1111,9120,5453 Cheese,4411,5522,6622,6641 The first position is the info (the product) I want to retreive for the corresponding code. Assuming that the codes are unique for each product and all code data is on one line.

I saw that VB .Net 2003 has some tools for easily reading metadata information present in some TIFF and JPG files, eg. ---------------------------------------------------------------- .... Dim b As New Bitmap(OpenFileDialog1.FileName) For Each p As System.Drawing.Imaging.PropertyItem In b.PropertyItems ' do something with ' p.Id ' p.Len ' p.Type

Assumptions I am assuming that you know or are capable of looking up the functions I am to describe here and have some remedial understanding of C programming. FYI Although I have called this article “How to Parse a File in C++”, we are actually mostly lexing a file which is the breaking down of a stream in to its component parts, disregarding the syntax that stream contains. Parsing is actually including the syntax in order to make...

When I tried pictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile("aGeoTiffFile.tif"); I got an error: System.Exception: A Graphics object cannot be created from an image that has an indexed pixel format. Can I load geoTiff file and access its meta info with C#?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
