Printer Port Error - Windows XP

Hi,
error message ; a digital camera or device that is not supported by the
direct printing function is connected to the direct print port. Disconnet the
cable from the direct print port.
The Canon ip4200 printer has been connected for a year. Shut down during
power failure. have reloaded printer several times, will print occassionally
after reboot, driver does not need updating; am not very computer literate -
but am stuck now.
Please help if you have any recommendations .
Thank you

You are posting to the wrong newsgroup/forum. You need to post to one that
has the word Windows in it based on the O/S Vista, XP, etc in it.

This is a .Net programmer's NG.

Why can't the MS NG/admins have this problem fix for the WEB UI that's
making users post to this NG incorrectly? It's ridiculous that they allow
this to continuously happen.

Hi. I have a computer running a third party software (POS). The thing is this application opens the printer port and I need to use another program while the first one is still running. Since the other app has the printer port windows shows an error (path/file access error). Is there a way that two applications can share the printer port?

Hi; I am writing my first python program and would like to know how to change stdout to refer to my default printer or any other printer on my network. The other question is, Is there an API set of classes that allow me to interact with network devices. In other words, if I have a path and filename inside of a string variable in python, how do I send the file to the printer?? Thanks in advance

I have a Borland Turbo C++ compiler (though I never use the "plus-plus" part), copyright 1990. I use this compiler to write simple programs, one of which I am quite dependent on. A month ago, my parallel-port-output printer died, and I got a Samsung printer that takes info from the USB port. Every time I go into DOS mode and try to send something to that printer, whether from a command line ("dir>prn"), or from one of my programs, I get...

I"m trying to network my Mac G5, running OSX 10.4.7 Tiger, a PC laptop running Windows 2000, and an HP Laserjet 4500, with a Linksys Wireless-G router. All are set up with network cords running to the router. The router is working since I can access the internet on both computers. I followed the...

Hi, This apparently is a common problem and I've yet to read a solution that actually works for my specific situation. I have a Zebra RW220 printer that I connect to via Bluetooth connection mapped to a serial port. The application I'm writing runs on a Windows Mobile 5 device, so there's no built in printer support and I have to use a serial port.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
