playing with Windows Presentation Foundation

Hi,

I just started playing with Windows Presentation Foundation stuff... fun
stuff... and I just happened across what appears to be a cache of every
executable that I build or something... and I am a bit troubled by this...
but I tried to find some information on this and wasn't able to... didn't
really know what to look for... I guess it just bothers me because it seems
like unnecessary clutter. I use source control, so if I need a previous
build, I can get there... and I thought that my builds were confined to the
bin\debug or bin\release folders to which I built them... anybody know what
this is and if it can be disabled or "maybe" why I wouldn't want it
disabled??

the cache I found, btw, was in:

C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\ Local Settings\Applic ation
Data\assembly\d l3\QKRXB5CL.RDT \5A5CY98W.Q60

Thanks,
Chris

The Problem is, that i am not a msdn subscriber and downloading it from ms requires it! I am highly interested in the new technologies and features it offers.

I'm hoping to get a response from developers with experience in both developing applications for Windows and the Web using VS.NET2005. I'm looking for input as to why we would want to develop a web application versus a Windows Application. I know all the standard reasons, Availability, Easier Deployment (although that is really not an issue any more with Windows Apps in .NET), etc, I'm looking for more better reasons why we should develop...

My friend told me that his company will migrate the VC++ win32 applications to C++ .NET windows applications. I don't understand why since currently Microsoft only supports .NET on windows platforms. If Win32 applications and .NET application both will run on windows only, what's the advantages for the migration? Or maybe this type of migration is not common in practice?

I'm reading up on Composite Application UI Block (CAB) and wondering if it is overkill for the enterprise Windows app we plan to build. We simply want a shell app where then each modult that is selected exists within. We could use user controls but we're not crazy about the idea. If you tell me to continue to explore CAB, I will. So, with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) out, is that a successor to CAB or totally separate?

Dear all, I am new to the .net 3.0 development. I am currently trying to develop a WPF (XAML) application using VS 2005 + Expressions blend. I created the window added buttons and managed all this. But when i am trying to add a WebBrowser control i can't find it in the tool bar (in VS 2005). I tried adding it, it's already there in the checked componenets but since the application is Version 3.0 and the control is 2.0 it's not...

I've searched, I've read, I've tested and re-read numerous post but to no avail yet... Quite simply, the settings I've applied to my httpd.conf, httpd-vhost.conf and my hosts files simply does not work. Please review my work and let me know if you see that one little thing that is throwing me for a loop. HTTPD.CONF # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
