ip address problem

sorry i have no idea where to put this discussion in so i just put it in
general

OK well this is kind of a long story but ill make it as short as i can. a
few days ago a storm came and electricity hit my cable box outside. The
electricity continued on and destroyed my phones and quite a few other
things. It destroyed my modem and router (and everything connected to the
router) and also the ethernet connection port on the back of my computers. so
i had to buy new modem, router, phones, and an ethernet adapter port to go
into the mother board. unfortunately my xbox 360 was also connected to the
router. i was hoping maybe only the ethernet cord was bad but when i put a
new one in, the ip address still failed. My xbox still works fine but there
is no internet (which was the problem with the computers too). so do i have
to send it in to microsoft again? or is there something else i could try that
might fix the problem?

thx for any and all suggestions,

Unfortunately, this is dotnet.general. ..so, specificallly a newsgroup for
general discussions of the asp.net development platform. Mainly for
programmers.

You will want to find an xbox support newsgroup to ask this question.

But, that said, my assumption is that if everything else got zapped, so did
the ethernet card on the xbox.

In the future, consider going wireless to prevent this. ;0)

I have a function foo of which I need to get the address. The problem is that when you say "&foo" (or just foo for that matter), you get the address of this function's entry in a jump table and not the address of the function itself. Are there any BKMs for getting the real address or am I going to have to write a function that looks to see...

candide <toto@free.frwrites: These two statements are very different. The first one is just wrong and I am pretty sure you did not mean to suggest that. There is no object in C that is the same as its address. The second one simply depends on a term that is not well-defined. Most people consider the type to be an important part of...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
