Hi,
Is there a way to use the SelStart functionality in a textbox that has
more than 32,767 characters in it, when the cursor is beyond the
32,767th characterz?
SelStart is an integer, and it wraps around to negative numbers when
going beyond this upper limit.
Thanks,

I am having trouble with the cursor in a richtextbox for windows forms. After
incerting a character between words in a sentence, as so:
this.richTextBox1.Text =
this.richTextBox1.Text.Insert(this.richTextBox1.SelectionStart, ""+'\u1200');
Than the curser moves to the beginning of the textbox unabeling the user to
continue to insert characters or words where it was origanelly slected.
My solution to this is to get the cursor back to...

I have noticed a "different" behavior in a .NET application I have written in
C#. When I tab between textbox controls, the contents of the control I am
tabbing into is typically highlighted. However, if I move the cursor to a
different location within a text box control, tab away, and then tab back,
the control seems to "remember" the location of the cursor. Rather than
highlight this control, it places the cursor at the location it was...

I'm doing a managed C++.NET (2003) application where I use a
Control::TextBox. When typing in text there is a cursor indicating the
position of where typed in text will go next (typically, a blinking vetical
line-segment character). I need to either make this invisible or be able to
control and read its position. How can I do this?
Alternately, is there a way to force a TextBox to manage typing in a
fractional number on its own so that...

I'm building a custom textbox for numbers only (actually two of them - one
for integers and one that allows currency entries, but let's discuss the
integer only control). I'm having a problem knowing where in the current
string the user is trying to enter '-' (ascii 45). I have been able to
ensure it can't be entered twice, but I currenty only allow it at all when
the string length is zero. However, if the user enters '345' and now wants...

Could anyone suggest a way in which I could find the position of the cursor
within a textbox.
I want to evaluate every keypress made within the textbox in order to
validate it but in order to do this I need to know where the cursor is when
the key is pressed. So far I can't see how I could do this.
Any help would be very much appreciated,
Neil R.

I have a .Net TextBox (TextBoxBase, really) in which I am appending about 20

This is a great substitute for taking the Text property and concatenating

Me.tb.AppendText(newText)

Hi
I have tried to implement drag and drop by using the following code
but I have several problems.
1. When you put your mouse over selected text the cursor is still the
i-beam and therefore does not show that the text can be dragged
2. When pressing the mouse button to start a drag the selected text
changes - I know this is cause the code does not initiate the
dodragdrop until the mouse leaves the control but if I change this
then you...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
