I have a need to become familiar with SQL Server 2000 for work.
Needless to say I am new to SQL Server any version, but not IT in
general. My employer has provided me with the SQL Server 2000
Personal disk from the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise kit as this is
reported here on the MSDN web site to be the version that is supported
on Windows XP. In fact so many of you kind people confess to having
succeeded in doing it.
I have tried...

My ASP.NET application is working fine when I run under IIS Personal Web
Server in Windows 2000 machine. However, after I upload all the files to the
Windows Server 2003 machine, and tried to run the application, it has 404
error on all .aspx files. Even I re-compile and build the whole project in
Windows Server 2003, it couldn't help.
any ideas??

I'm having a credentialing problem in my web application. Actually, I don't
think this is an IIS security issue, since I'm able to access the page I'm
requesting. However, the executing page itself is not able to access a
specific network resource and I just can't figure out why. First of all, let
me say this worked fine with IIS running on Win2000 Server. This has not
worked since I upgraded to Windows Server 2003.
My Platform: Windows...

I just started to develop an ASP.NET application in vs.net 2003 . But each
time I try to execute the application (which is basically empty so far), I
get a dialog box titled "Microsoft Development Environment" with this
message:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. Server-side error occurred on sending debug HTTP request.
Make sure the server is operating correctly. Verify there are no...

I am trying to set up an intranet at work that will use our Active directory
to authorize our users. We also want them to access the site from the
outside (such as at home) and also be authenticated by our Active Directory.
We don't want to set up a separate Sql setup.
I tried to set up my Web.config file like so:
**********************************************************
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

Hello,
Can anybody help to solve the following problem?
My Windows Service trying to access remote machine to get WindowsDirectory
Property over Win32_OperatingSystem WMI class. Both servers are in the same
Active Directory domain, so I create special active directory user and

Hi guys,
Up until 3 weeks ago I was running a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition Beta from home on an ADSL connection with dynamic IP absolutely fine - until the beta decided to expire.
I have since upgraded to a valid licensed copy but because the "upgrade" option wasn't given to me I had to do a clean install - so format and re-install my hard disk.
Fortunately, I was clever and stored all my vitals - mailbox database,...

I have been trying to find a solution to this on the Internet for months. Literally, ages and ages and ages, praying that someone in the open-source community has enough knowledge to put together an LDAP connector for MySQL Community to connect to Active Directory. Alas, nothing. So I figured I'd try doing something similar.
My business problem is/was as follows:
I use Active Directory on Windows Server 2003 to manage my small corporate...

Hey Everyone,
I'm currently trying to recover from a server breach (when I was put in charge of the server there was no AV and no firewall for about 4 months before). It appears that the server has been accessed using the "WinEggDrop" utility, and it is allowing new active directory users to be created.
I am wanting to do a full server reinstall to start from scratch and remove any of the weird settings that were initially setup (ie, no...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
