Hi,
I've found what appears to be a bug with ASP.NET web service method
invocation - making it impossible to invoke and get the result of a
synchronous web call after an asynchronous call has been made if both are
using sessions.
Heres an example for two calls in the web service, the first is expected to
be executed asynchronously by the client and the second to get the progress
of the first while it is executing:

I have a C++ application that consumes a web service. I would like to call
the web service asynchronously so my C++ application can do other processing
in between.
My proxy file does not have any asynchronous methods in it, What do I have
to do to get my proxy file to have the asynchronous methods to call?
Thanks

If I'm making several asynchronous web service calls using the services
Begin/End methods. How do you return the results of the webservice back to
the main thread or calling page?
Here's my code, I get the XML in the callback but not sure how to return it
since the BeginXXX expects a IAsynchResult?
IAsyncResult ar = <proxy>.BeginXXXX(params, new
AsyncCallback(SomeAsynchCallback), <proxy>);

Hi,
I'm developing a web service with should be used by an .NET CF2 client and
an .NET 2.0 Windows client.
I've tried to put all the connection logic into one class, which could be
used in common from the mobile and the windows client. But this didn't work:
The new .NET framework supports asynchronous web services with the
"MethodnameCompleted+=new MethodNameEventHandler pattern, but the "old
style" .NET 1 pattern used in the compact...

I am building Web Services using Visual Basic 2005 in VB.Net 2.0 and based on
MSDN Help and various other books I am lead to believe that when I generate a
proxy I should have a BeginMethodName and EndMethodName for each web method
that I build.
What I find is that when I consume the Web Service with a Web Form Client
the methods are there but when I consume the same Web Service with a Windows
Client the Begin/End methods are not there. ...

I have a large problem, and I believe there is not yet a way to solve this
using IIS and ASP.NET. I hope someone has a solution which we couldn't
find.
The current situation
When a user logs in to our website, we implement a single login for multiple
services (let's call them services A-D). This means, that on the backend,
while sampleuser logs in to our service with only one username and password,
he is automatically logged in to...

I have a process that takes a while to run so I have it running
asynchronously so that the user can continue working. My question is that I
want to killl the process if the user changes the search parameters before
the callback method is called. Any ideas of how to do this or if it even
matters? I did not know if calling the asynch process a new time kills the
previous one or not.
Thank you for your help.

I'm developing WinForms application in .NET 2.0 that talks to web
service. The automatically generated proxy (reference class) has got
methods for both synchronous and asynchronous invocations of the web
service methods. What I like about the asynchronous calls that they
use events. So when I call the web service operation is finished is
fires the event. So all my objects that I'm using in my client
application just subscribe to whatever...

Hi,
I have to make multiple calls (about 400K) to a webservice which returns a
string. And currently it takes about a week to make all the calls. Instead of
waiting for the webservice result before i make the next call, I rather want
to make the calls and let the results comeback at its own pace. I used
Asynchronous calling and callback method, but it does not seems to work. I am
sure, asynchronous way will improve my program execution...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
