James suggested that I used window.open on the client side to open a new window. I created a test ASP app and can get it work fine. But now I'm trying to fix my real app, which is in ASP.NET. It uses a button with the button handler in the C# code-behind page calling Response.Redirect. I can't find anything that's equivalent to window.open and I don't know enough about ASP to figure out how or where to put the window.open and still...

My web app writes some binary data to a file at the client site via Response.Write and Response.BinaryWrite. This action is accomplished in response to a button click, with C# code behind as follows: private void SubmitButton_Click (object sender, System.EventArgs e) { // Set up the response to write the print file to the client Response.Clear (); Response.AppendHeader ("Content-Disposition", "filename=WebPrint.prn");

Can anyone help with how to use the Response.Redirect method to open a page in a new instance of the browser. In this case it is a report. When the user selects a report from a list then I want to display the report but when they close the report the resport list window (browser) should stay open. Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thanks. -- John at Free Design

Hi, I have one combo box and GO button on the click of GO button page submitted and according to selection of one of the option from combo I want to redirect my page to some new asp page but at the same time in new window of browser. I could have achieved this using window.open() of javascript but then it will serve as pop up and clients requirement is that not to show as popup window due to many users blocked popups.

I have a big asp file that has an error under certain conditions -- totally repeatable. However, it only fails when I set response.buffer = True at the top. WHen I set it False in order to debug it, it works every time! I even set it to True, but did a .Flush just before the error, and the error won't happen. It only happens when response.buffer is True and no .response.flush is issued. The error is a string variable turns-up empty...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
