Hi again,
I need to be able update my web site with info from a remote web site. At
this other web site, the info I require is updated every 30 minutes, 24
hours per day. Life would be cool if a way existed by which I could
"schedule" my code to run periodically so that my info could remain
synchronized with the info on this other site.
In the PHP docs / books I have I've been unable to find functions / services
/ examples that...

Hi,
I am updating system time with IRIG time source which sends irregular
pulses as shown below
11000011111100111111111111111111....(1-IRIG present and 0-IRIG not
present)
I need to update system time when I find a steady pulse or a series of
1's say for a span of 10-15 seconds. Is there a way to implement this
in VB6?
Thanks in advance.
Valiz.

Hi There,
I have an update statement to update a field of a table (~15,000,000
records). It took me around 3 hours to finish 2 weeks ago. After that
no one touched the server and no configuration changed. Until
yesterday, I re-ran it again and it took me more than 18hrs and still
not yet finished!!!
What's wrong with it? I can ran it successfully before. I have tried
two times but the result was still the same.

Hi,
I'm creating a form based on a table. This table has fields including
UniqueID (auto numbered and different for each entry), Track (3
different types), ClassYear (4 different years), and ModuleID.
Now this form takes in info from some fields (eg. track, gradyear),
and automatically updates others (i.e. ID and ModuleID). But I need to
find a way to update the ModuleID a certain way. Here's the deal.
There are many types of students....

I have created a table that contains buckets to hold activitives of
enrollment for each of our admissions officer for each day of an
enrollment session. I have an UPDATE that builds rolling totals and
updates said table. I count unique students from a table that contains
registration information.
Everything works, however it runs pretty slowly and I am wondering if
there is a better approach to writing the SQL. SQL's Engine Tuning

I was reading the code of FFmpeg and it seems that they use malloc
just too much. The problems and dangers of malloc are widely known.
Malloc also has some overhead (although I don't know what is the
overhead of automatic variable sized arrays, I suspect it is smaller
than that of malloc), although I'm not too worried about it.
I was thinking that, with C99's variable length arrays, malloc
shouldn't be needed most of the time. But I'm...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
