How to convert C# codes to VB.Net code or any other .Net language

271 Contributor
hi,
Can any one help me how to convert a C# code to VB.net code programatically .
Is this possible.

Or tell me is my idea below is correct.
we know that the .net program written in any language is converted to meta data before it is processed.
Is that possible to convert it back to the language with which it is created or is it possible to make the metadata viewable.

If the code is well written (modularised) you probably won't need to do the conversion. Otherwise what you are trying to do is to defeat the whole point of .NET. .NET is(or is supposed to be) platform independent and the major advantage it is supposed to have Java is the ability to integrate code written using different languages. That essentially means that converting code from one .NET language to another .NET language is a pointless exercise.

Hi r035198x,
thanks for the information. but my idea is if i am having 2 resources one with only vb.net knowledge and the other with c# knowledge, so that i can develope 2 modules of a project in different language and then i can combine them converting them to a single language for ease at later stage.

I have a table of zip codes, some with Canadian zips. I'd like to take a zip code and search for nearby zips. For example: Dim theZip As Integer = textbox1.text ....Parameter.Add(@ziplow, SqlDbType.Int, 5).Value = (theZip - 10) ....Parameter.Add(@ziphigh, SqlDbType.Int, 5).Value = (theZip + 10) SELECT * from ZIPCODES where Cast(zip_code as Integer) BETWEEN @lowzip AND @highzip

I'm reading from a database a column that has a list of codes (comma seperated). When I read in the list I have a single value, see code sample below values for a, b, and c. These represent possible values in my database. I need to loop through each value so I can expand my data from this compressed view. My code below works and creates my desired output but I believe there must be a better way this is very messy. My messy function that...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
