Grid Settings

Hello All,

I'm net to VB.Net and am running it on a VISTA machine with an LCD Screen
and I cannot see the grid dots on any forms. The Grid/On is set to true.

I have tried to change the Fore/Back colors without success and have even
gone into Tools/Options/Enviroment/Fonts and Colors and played around there,
but still nothing. I ven tried the Brightness/Contrast on the screen, any
ideas.

Hi All,

Solved it!! I had the Layout Mode as 'Snap to Line' instead of 'Snap to Grid'

Thanks anyway.

Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your eyes, the grid is invisible.
You can still 'snap' to the grid but there are no visible dots.

I've got some custom classes that implement IBindingList so I can bind them to a DataGrid. My test app works fine. So then I tried to format the columns - I have a function that creates a TableStyles object, formats all the columns, set the headers, column width, column order, etc. I tried calling it in the form constructor after InitializeComponent, I tried calling it in the Form_Load() event handler. I tried calling it before I bound...

Hi all, What is the best way to allow the administrator of the application to select which columns are displayed in a Databound grid in an aspx form. I was thinking of creating a form and display all possible columns with a checkbox. The admin would check the checkboxes for each column they want to display in the grid. My question is where should I save these settings ( in XML or SQL Server?). Also when these settings are changed, how can...

Hi, I have a web page (asp.net, code:c#). I havean html table with text boxes. Based on the user input , records are displayed in the data grid below it. Now the datagrid has a large no. of columns. & depending on what the user enters, the data grid can grow very large. So to avoid scrolling the whole page, I just want the data grid to be scrollable. For this I used the <div> tags around the data grid, <div...

Greetings! I see from the group archives that a lot of people don't like how Snap to Grid works when placing controls on forms. I am now among that number. When I had the Windows Forms Designer option for snap to grid set to False and the form's SnapToGrid and DrawGrid properties left at their default settings, I could hold down Ctrl and use the arrow keys and my control would move one pixel in the desired direction. But when I used...

I have a picture that I allow the user to move around and would like to offer grid support like VB and other apps so that it will snap to the nearest point. How can I offer grid support so that the image will snap in place on grid points like a commerical app? I am not sure how to implement that. Anyone have any code? Thanks,

Not sure the best way to go about making this: I have 3 user defineable values - Width, Height, and Size. These values need to define a "grid" of some kind in the following manner: The Width is how many columns the grid has; the Height indicates how many rows the grid has, and the Size indicates both the Width and Height of each individual unit, or cell, on the grid (all cells are to be square, n x n). Each cell of the grid must be...

Hi, I am working on the G System project (BSD licenced) and we are going to be (eventually) implementing a distributed database to hold data for the game that (eventually) will be developed. People have (though I don't think anyone has seriously investigated yet) suggested that we use a grid with postgresql databases to serve the data. There will also be processing of data, so it's not just a distributed database, I guess. The idea is to...

Hello group, I design a class to bind it to a property grid for easy modification of some settings. My problem is now that I want to raise an event when a settings has been changed. Thats not a problem with some "normal" properties (see property DisplayGrid). But when I use a subclass and TypeConverter the setter of the property is not called. Set(ByVal value As LineSetting) m_Limit1 = value

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
