VC++ .NET 2008 Express (Beta 2) - upgrade?

I've been using VC++ 2008 Express ** Beta 2 ** version. I also have most of
the other express languages (Basic, C#), but downloaded and installed them
prior to the official release as well.

Now that the official release of the express versions has happened, should I
upgrade by installing the official ones?

Yes. You should uninstall the beta and then install the final release.

I have a VB 6 program which uses DataLinks. When this program is opened in VB Express Beta for upgrade, the upgrade wizard tells that it has collected enough information to upgrade and in next screen it just dies. Poor thing. Has anyone encountered this? Any update for this wizard? I checked in www.artinsoft.com and found nothing. Thanks -- RV

I'm currently trying to install VC++ 2008 Express Beta 2. It downloads all the files just fine. Then it begins to install .NET Framework 3.5. This starts, but at around 5% done according to progress bar it stops progressing. At this point it hasb't moved for 15 minutes. Not sure what to do. Cancel and restart? Is this just a long process involved? The CPU seems about 50% active, and the Task Manage seems to think it is still running.

I have written a program using VC++ 2008 Express (Beta 2). It uses System::Speech for speech recognition. My program works fine in VS GUI, both Debug and Release. It also works fine in Debug stand-alone (outside GUI). And it begins to work in Release Stand-alone. But, it stops Recognizing (async) after a while even though it is definitely called. How/where do I report this? I don't know where the problem lies, but I suspect it's in...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
