This is a very open ended question. I have an app with a page that uses link
buttons to change the display. On the prior page you have a list of objects.
You click one of those objects to see it's details. I have nav Link buttons
that allow you to go to previous or next object from the object list on
previous page. In the command event of the linkbutton, the page is redrawn

I have a few ASP.NET web applications on my web host's "https" server. Our
web host has a single "bin" folder for me to toss my assemblies into. We
keep loosing session state every few months.
People have told me that my app could be running out of memory, causing the
sessions to get reset. Well, if this is the case, then when I go to the

I have been using the default session state (InProc) and have found that I
have been loosing my information after a period of time (normally 20
minutes).
Is there anyway to find out how much more time I have on a session?
If I do a refresh, does reset the session clock?
Do you have have to go to another page to reset the session timeout or will
a postback also do it? This is important as we have a few pages that a user

exception. To get an idea what happens I traced some values using performance

I have tried to enable session state in my tag, but it appears
to not be working. When my web service is called, the session state is not
preserved. The Web Service is being called from a Windows Form control
assembly. Is there anything else I need to do to have session state work in
my web service?

I have a Web service that gets the financial periods and hold a reference to
a disconnected dataset built at initialization. Web methods work on the
dataset inside the web service. Everything is fine so far.
My problem is that when I call a web method to modify the dataset inside the
Web service it is never updated and I get no errors.
currentPeriods method will always give me 1 even if I call ChangeDataset and
call currentPeriods...
