Datagridview to display multiple tables

1 New Member
I am using visual studio 2005, .NET2.0
I am reading xml data into a dataset and bind the it to a datagridview

I have 2 tables in my xml that I would like to bind to the datagridview. Using datamember, it only let me display 1 table.

Is there a way I could the 2 tables in my datagridview ?

Thanks

You want to show the data of two tables simultaniously or at occurence of some event?
Secondly are you talking about Master Detail tables or just seperate tables?

If master detail then try this

You should look into DataSet.Merge. This will allow you to combine data from 2 tables into 1 dataset and then display the columns in the dataset that you want to show in your datagridview.

Thinking two things, 1- Creating a userControl -yeah you guessed it, a multi column drop down combobox - I've looked at several articles and did not find what I need, one that's bindable and that I can use in a datagrid view. 2- Extending the datagridview so that it can be added to the list in the column types when editing columns in the datagridview. I'm really getting PO'd at Microsoft for not including a multi column combobox both a...

I've got a couple questions on the new Datagridview control in VS2005. 1) In the old datagrid control at design time I was able to add multiple tablestyles with columns from different datasources. Then at run time when I would bind a dataset to the grid it would display the tablestyle associated with the dataset. How do I do this in VS2005? 2) I do all my databinding to the datagridview at run time, but setup my columns as unbound...

Hello, Following an example at http://www.vb-tips.com/dbpages.aspx?IA=DG (by Cor Lightert and Ken Tucker) on binding a dataRelation to a Datagridview for sqlClient, I was able to view rows in datagridview2 that corresponded to a selected row in datagridview1. Great article/example.

Is there an equivalent of the DataGrid's DataGridTableStyle for the DataGridView? If not, is there an easy way to duplicate the DataGridTableStyle's functionality for the DataGridView? Here's the background for my question... Before I switched my application over to the Fx 2.0, I used a DataGrid to display my data. I would store different DataGridTableStyles (each one with a custom set of columns) in the DataGrid.TableStyles property...

I am a .NET newbie, specifically WinForms. I have a simple Winform for which I have a "How To" question: My WinForm app will display data from a FoxPro database, two tables in particular: Patients, and Sessions. There is one record in the Patients table for each patient. The PatientID is the primary key. The sessions table contains all of the visits that all of the patients have made to the lab. There is a one-to-many relation between...

I am wondering if someone could provide a code sample (or just a suggested approach) on how to fill a single DataGridView with multiple result sets. For example, this statement returns a one-line result set for each table in the database: EXEC sp_MSforeachtable @command1="EXEC sp_spaceused '?'" It would be handy to be able to put them all into one DataGridView. I would like to be able to handle an arbitrary SQL statement; above is just...

Hi All :) I'm converting VB6 using True DBGrid Pro 8.0 to VB2005 using DataGridView. True DBGrid has a MultipleLines property that controls whether individual records span multiple lines. Is there an equivalent property for the DataGridView? I have searched, but have not found one. I would like the user to be able to see all the columns of the table on one screen - thus eliminating the need to use the horizontal scroll bar to view...

I have a DataGridView in a form that will display the information from various DataTables in my DataSet. The user is provided a list of tables and when they select a table name, the DataGridView displays the appropriate DataTable. When a user changes some of the settings in my program, I sometimes have to recreate some of the DataTables, however, the DataGridView will still somehow display the original DataTable even if the DataGridView...

I have 3 related tables in a DataSet - Customers, Products and Orders. I am trying to create an "editable" DataGridView which, ideally, will contain columns from all the tables. I have tried creating the joins in the TableAdapter SQL, but this results in a read-only data grid. Customers and Orders are joined in a 1:M relationship by CUSTID. Products and Orders are joined in a 1:M relationship by PRDID. When the user adds a new...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
