Hi,
After doing a bit of googling, it seems everyone refers to the article
"Managing Low-Level Keyboard Hooks in VB .NET" Written by Paul Kimmel -
http://www.developer.com/net/net/article.php/11087_2193301_1/
When I implement this in a VB.NET Windows Forms application in Visual Studio
2002, everything works fine - I can hook the keyboard, trap keys, etc.
When I take the same module and place it in my VB.NET Windows Forms

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have a VB.NET client/server program where I put an '&' in the .Text property of a button to provide access key function.
In development mode, the screen control displays the underline character under the appropriate .Text letter, however, once I create the .EXE, the screen no longer shows the underline character to indicate the proper hotkey even though, if you know which key to use, it works ok

I have been working a program that uses a keyboard hook to trigger several
different actions based on the key that is pressed. The code that I use
(simplified and provided below) works perfectly in VB.Net 2003, but in VB.Net
2005 Pro, my keyboardhandle always equals 0, so the hook never gets set.
Would anyone know why on the same computer, the same working code in 2003
would not work in 2005? Thanks in advance for any advice you might...

Hi,
I have developed a font, which has ~30 new characters in the Unicode Private
Area (starting from U+E000). Now, since these characters are not present in
the standard keyboard, can you suggest me a way of inputting them ?
In MS Word, I can enter the characters in my new font by
1) selecting my font, and
2) using a customised keyboard created using Microsoft Keyboard Layout
creator.

Hi,
Trying to help my sons do some VB programming. they've got hold of some books with simple program listings but they're all 1980's BASIC (ZX81 et al).
The biggest problem I've found so far (we're assuming we would run VB in Command Line mode) is that the lines like:
INPUT T1
don't work any more.

Hi,
In VB.NET there is a keyword called "My" which has a lot of properties
collected at it.
Is there any equivalent to this "My" in C#?
Thank you.

Greetings, Good buddies!
I am for the first time, since I started learning VB, going to build an application I wanted to build for my first son, a language and activities program that will allow at one push of a button for colours to be added in squares, circles, and for audio responses to these to sound when for example, red circles, blue squares, or foods, etc are found in text added to multiline textbox.
My second son can benefit from...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
