MSFT offer you an IDE free:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/express/aa700797.aspx

There are also beta editions of the 2008 versions:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/express/default.aspx

You will have to decide if you want to be a beta tester :-)

Assuming you already know HTML and CSS beginners starting to learn to
develop .NET applications from square one should start by learning the C#
programming language using a real textbook like those from Deitel and Deitel
[1] and by usng free software such as Microsoft Visual Web Developer Express
and SQL Server Express. Expect at least a year and probably up to two years
to get basic to intermediate competency noting I say that realistically so
you don't think you're a dummy and quit because it is not a piece of cake
and takes time and lots of work okay?

Greetings, I am in need of two things. First, I need a list of good resources for someone that wishes to learn XML. If there are any defacto books, URL, etc I would love to know where to start. I usually do best with a high quality book so if there are any really great books you can recommend I would appreciate it. Secondly, I need to find an editor similar to XMLFox for editing some

A friend wants to put together a web site for a candy store. Not too sophisticated and no ecommerce functions. Just attractive and easy to maintain. Everthing I've authored is either handcoded and/or based on template-type stuff like oscommerce. The only integrated web authoring tools I've used are Frontpage and NetObjects. I would never recommend the former product. The latter seems to produce reasonably clean code, and a fairly current...

But I can't seem to find the answer. The question is how do you reverse the words in a string? Or how do you reverse the numbers listed in a string? The example is usually something like: Turn this string "1,2,3,4,..." Into "...4,3,2,1" This one seems hard enough let alone trying to turn a string of space-seperated words around(is that even possible? a trick question

I am doing the first walk through on the Visual Studio .Net walkthrough book to learn a little about programming. I am having issues with the first tutorial not running correctly. It seems that the build fails with what the book tells me to do. Specifically, I am doing this: public authors1 GetAuthors() { authors1 authors = new Authors1();

Hello I am intersting in developing and my background is VBA used in Excel and a brief intro to Java. I am interested in learning beyond VB and feel that C++ would be a very good language to get to know and give a lot of flexibility (if not tough to learn). I would like some advice on the merits of learning C++ versus C# or Visual Basic or Java for that matter.

I want to start learning how to program. But I dont know where to start. From what I've heard so far c++ is not a good lang. to learn as a beginner because its very complicated compared to others like python, ruby etc. I would like to know if there is a prerequisite to learning any computer language, is there something I have to learn before learning any computer language, like a basic or core?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
