have to develop 4 windows .NET Services which perform similar (but not
identical) tasks.
These are to be run on a 2 processor Win2k Server.
How do I perform processor load balancing? that is make sure that no more
than 2 services execute on a single processor?
Would it be any easier if I were to deploy these on a 4 Processor system.
(number of processors = number of services).
These Services read files in a direcrory and loop thru files...

I am currently importing data into Access 2002 from 3 Sybase ASA 7.0
databases over a network. At this time I am using a ODBC System DSN
connection using the proper ASA 7 driver. I would like to be able to
make a DSN-Less connection so that my software is not dependent on
having ODBC set-up with proper drivers and information.
I have done hours of searching/testing but have been unsuccessful at
making a DSN-Less connection. Could...

Hi,
We are running a website on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server machine with 4
CPUs and Hyperthreading enabled (i.e., 8 virtual processors). The web
server is IIS5.
Our application uses ASP.net, and we originally were testing the application

When we moved the application to the production machine (the one with 4

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;815156 , I added
<processModel enable="true" webGarden="true" cpuMask="8" /> on web.config,
restart iis service, the w3wp.exe process always use all cpu. The iis server
is windows 2003 iis6, how can i restrict ASP.NET to specific processors in a
multiprocessor system?

Hi,all:
I find a problem in my program related with multiprocessor. The OS
is windows, and when it run on a singleprocessor machine, it's OK. But
If the machine is multiprocessor, there will be some problems after
some time. It seems that some address has been changed to zero, but I
have done such thing just after getting a global mutex. Could anyone
help me?

I am trying really hard to grasp the concept of Interfaces and their real
world usage.
I constructed a simple project of a webpage that contains two controls. I
am enabling communication back and forth between the page as well as
controls. I used two interfaces to remove the hardcoded references.
Is what I'm doing correct? Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
