I realize that IE now hosts the Common Language Runtime and that you
can host Windows Forms controls in IE6 the way you can host ActiveX
controls and Java applets. I originally got excited thinking that I
could write my IE scripts in C# and avoid the use of JavaScript. Then
sanity struck, and I realized that you would need far more than just
the CLR for that to happen.
Nevertheless I am wondering if I could not achieve much of the same...

Hi there
I have avoided to use active x controls because I thought they are causing
more problems then they are doing any good.
I a new application I would want to use the tree and list view control in
access 2002. Prior to that I like to fine some information or here some feed
back from developers who have use active x controls success fully in there
application, what their experience was.

I am able to create new sources using CreateEventSource.
I can call GetEventLogs, I can delete sources, I can see
if sources exist BUT, as soon as I try a "WriteEntry", I

I've got an application whereby I need to make calls to a .NET Class Library
in the same way that I would make calls to an ActiveX control from a
webpage, using the <object id="CLSID, etc tag. Is there a better way to do
this than wrapping the .NET Class Library into an ActiveX Control?

I am having trouble converting the code below (found on

format that will work using vb .NET.
Can anyone have a look at it and let me know what I need to change. I
have tried changing the "hwnd" type into intptr's but there seem to be

I have an activex control that is used in an old app originally written in
VB6. It works good. I updated the VB6 app to VB.net. Got it working, sort
of.
The activex control uses withevents and fires an event when there is
incoming message traffic. I need to capture that data. The event fires

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
