Targetting .net 2.0 framework from VS 2008

Hi All,
I am using Visual express 2008 (C#) and have just started wporking on a windows app for 2.0 framework.

I have set the target to 2.0 in the properties. However the setter and getter methods still exist (ie the one line code to write the settter and getter, introduced to 3.0 framework)
So that would mean that if i run the app in a system running the 2.0 framwork , it will crash and burn! (that what i assume, apart from the burning part)

Is this true or is there something else I should be doing?

cheers.. and thanks

Can I use build my VS 2005 web projects to target framework 1.1 and run the sites on aspnet 1.1? Could this be done with aspnet_compiler so that I can automate this as part of automated build? Thanks.

I created my first quick-and-dirty Windows Forms app using VS-2008. Very slick & nice. But it requires 3.5 to be on the desktop - no good, makes it unusable. Nobody is going to download that here. For a simple application, is there anyway to tell VS to build the app in such a way that it only requires 1.0 or 1.1 of the framework? I'm guessing the answer is no but I figured I'd ask... I would create an ASP.NET app, but we don't have a...

I know this is not really a development problem but why do you have to install the .net framework to run a vb.net program?

I have upgraded my VS 2008 with SP1. It has automatically upgraded .NET framework to SP1 too. Now I will be deleloping my product using .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. Can this developed product work safely on .NET Framework 3.5 machines. (i.e. machine without .NET Framework 3.5 SP1). My projects are targetted to .NET framework 3.5 only

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
