Hello all, I am working on a website for a bookstore and have run into a bit of a snag. I am trying to write a form where an admin can set the category for a book. However, categories can be of an arbitrary depth so I need something which resembles a windows "tree view." For example: Primary category Art and Architecture has subcategory history has subcategory African etc etc.

It seems that when I dynamically resize items in a tree-view control, using TVM_SETITEM and the TVITEMEX iIntegral member, things go awry. The window draws properly, but it seems like the RECTs for the HTREEITEMs are not updating properly. This is espeically true if I update the size of an individual HTREEITEM more than once -- making it larger, and then smaller again. The tree view's scroll bar no longer works correctly -- it doesn't scroll...

Outside of building a custom ActiveX control that would need to run on the user's machine and have security attributes set to allow such, does anyone have any code that will allow a combobox to display a tree of items? I could display a tree control, but that takes a lot of space on the page. I have seen comboboxes in non-web apps uses such a thing. I want to be able to display a tree in a compact fashion. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Does anyone know of a good article that discusses creating a "Tree View" control in ASP.NET? Or perhaps a Tree View Control that comes with source code? I have come across a lot of tree controls for ASP.NET however most of them are already compiled and don't come with source code. I am really just looking for an example on how to create my own Tree Control. Thanks a bunch.

How would you go about doing this I have a tree view which where anything is a parent it is a folder (folder icon, and the tag for the object is a string that says "FOLDER:{name of folder here}") then each folder has items in it and possibly more folders. The root node also has items on it that are not folders... but default sorting sorts by name, so folders do not show up on top. pretty much anything that has children are to show on top...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
