WebService to run on default server proxy

1 New Member
Hello, I'm in need of finding a way to direct my webservice to utilize the default proxy that is used by IE. I found a lot of documentation on this topic on the web and tried editing the machine.config file to include the options to either run the detault and also specified the proxy it should use. I didn't have luck with it. I also edited the default IE registry keys and now they match for all users. Any advice on where i can find a way to edit the machine.config file correctly. The comments file describes the options but when you look at the machine.config file it doesn't have all those option set out and it's not clear how to add them in.

If there is an easier way to have the script utilize the default script please let me know. Would there be a configuration in the .Net framework configuration maybe?

It would just seem perfect for the configuration to hold the network proxy to be used as an option or a field to add the proxy url or the server and port.

Thanks

I have a custom object that I have written which is serializable. I have put this object in it's own dll which is referenced by both the WebService and the Application using it. My problem is the WebService Proxy creates it's own implementation of my CustomObject which is causing issues. Is there some way to mark my object to use it's own namespace instead of using the namespace of the object being recreated by the WebService Proxy? ...

Our WinForms app is currently configurable to either use the default settings from IE, or to allow an explicit proxy server uri to be specified - using this information we set the .Proxy on the webservice proxy object to a WebProxy object that we create using 'new...

Our WebDev team seems to have found a problem that exposes a bug in .NET 2.0. This problem can be shown when trying to access a WebService using SSL and through a proxy server after using the HttpWebRequest object. Under normal circumstances I am able to use the webservice without any problems. But after using an HttpWebRequest object to make a call to a website all subsequent attempts to use the WebService will fail with a 401...

Hi, when accessing a secured 3rd party webservice i'm getting a 401 HTTP Statuscode (unauthorized). When entering the url in a browser and entering the username and password manually, the wsdl is returned. So the username and password should be ok. I'm using this code: Merchant myMerch = new Merchant(); myMerch.merchantIdentifier=merchantId;

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
