Problem with binding data in listboxes

1 New Member
Hello, everyone, i've recently started using C# and i'm rather new to this language. I'm trying to make a small project now that is combining the basic knowledge of programming (according to me :) ). But of course i crashed a wall at a certain moment. Actually two walls. I checked a lot of webpages, forums, but couldn't find a solution. So, the problem is: I have two listboxes and two textboxes. The data, gathered in the listboxes is later on saved in two text files. But I want to make sorting when adding the new items there. I mean, entering data in BOTH textboxes is obligatory. And ill make a sorting in one of the listboxes but i need to make a binding of the items so that when the sortig is done, the items at the second listbox will still correspond to the items of the first one. But I can't do this, yet.
Second problem is how to make a checking of the alphabet that is entered in the textboxes (cyrillic or latin). I have done this in delphi, long ago, but can't do it now, don't know why :(
Hope someone will give me a clue about these things, thanks in advance.

IDE: VS 2003 :NET OS: XP Pro My app have a form with a tab-control on it. The tab-control have 2 tabpages. One of the tabpages displays a datagrid, and the other tabpage displays details (order date, name, address etc) about the selected row in the datagrid... My problem is when I enter a new record in the details tabpage (saves data to database), and go back to the datagrid. Only the data from the PM-table

I have two virtually identical listbox controls on a tabPage in my application. I bind a small datatable to each one when a new project (my data) is selected from a treeview control (this works fine). When I select the first project, the data is retrieved without a problem and the datatables are properly bound to both listboxes. The first listbox has a "SelectedIndexChanged" event wired to it which also works fine. Now, here's the...

Hello I've created a form with 2 listboxes. Both have data-binding. First one is "normal", 1:1 view of table. Second is filled using parameter from the first one. this.xxxTableAdapter.Fill(this.mainDataSet.XXX, (int)this.BindingContext.Current); When I do it in Form_Load() it shows first listbox with element with "id" of value 2 selected, but this.BindingContext.Current == 1. When I do the same thing in

I've been working with VB .NET for less than a year and this is the first time I've posted on one of these groups, so let me apologize beforehand if I'm being unclear, not posting my issue correctly, posting to the wrong forum, or committing some other sort of faux pas. My team is developing a Windows Forms application using VS 2005 with SQL Server 2005 on the back end and we're having a problem using ComboBoxes data bound to lookup...

Hi I have a form with a number of multi-select lists and drop downs that user can select to define a search criteria. The result then needs to be shown in another list on the same form. Normally I would use a number of query working in series (i.e. one query is source to the other and so on) with initial queries using more exact criteria that works out fast and reduces the number of records that following less exact queries need to...

Hi all. I'd like any suggestions on how I can get my data set (not a DataSet) bound to a couple of controls on a form. Let me start by describing what my data looks like. Each entry correlates to a piece of equipment and has the following information: Two strings, one for a system name and one for equipment name An integer An ArrayList (which will contain only strings)

Hello Everyone, I am having problems with a listbox control. I have a page with a couple of labels and drop-down lists at the top, and then below there is a table with two columns, the first column contains a listbox and the second column contains some buttons. I am trying to display it such that if the listbox is empty it will be at least 100px wide, but if there is content in the box I want it to expand dynamically such that if the...

Hello all, I have 3 listboxes on my page, they all contain the same data. How can I avoid sending the THREE complete lists with data on the webpage? I would like to sent only 1 list with data and use it in all three listboxes. Remark, maybe of interest: the listboxes are on 3 different tabs in an ajax tabcontainer. Thank you Frank

I have a nested datagrid in a xaml file, the parent datagrid loads the vendor information and the details loads the documents for that vendor in a datagrid. Everything is working fine until I click in the child datagrid and then go to the combobox and choose another vendor. When the new vendor is loaded nothing shows in the datagrid but the itemsource shows the info is there. Know if I click on the child cell and then click back on the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
