Hi All,
I am new to using the Access DB and I need some help if someone
is able to give it to me. What I want to do is get the names of
the columns of certain tables. Not the data in the table but the
table column names.
I've seen other posts that suggest using the SQL command DESCRIBE
but I can't get it to work for some reason. Other posts have code
samples but they're written in VB which I am not familiar with. I

A DataGrid with shows a label in one of the columns when
in view mode. When in edit mode, I want to show a
dropdown, and have the default selection set to what the
textbox used to be. Right now the first item in the
dropdown is always displayed.

I've been trying to figure out a good way to do this but haven't had much
luck, any input would be greatly appreciated.
Basically, after a datagrid is sorted, how can I get the primary key value
of the item selected by the user? That is, not the datagrid index
'location' of the item the user selected, but the value inside a column of
this item the user clicked on.
I would use the CurrencyManager in a windows application but I'm not...

Hello All,
I am working to create a generic datagrid which accepts a
datasource(ListData - This is our own datatype) and depending on the calling
program customizes itself for sorting, paginantion or accepting the add and
remove item events.
What i am observing is that none of the vents are happening... (Sort, page,
or item). I am sure I am missing something basic here... Need help... Thanks
much

Hi,
I seem to be having a problem with a DataAdapter against an Access database.
My app deletes 3 records runs a da.update(dt) where dt is a data.Datatable.
I then proceed to update a list to reflect that the 3 items have been
deleted only to discover that the 3 items appear, however when I click on
them to display their information which runs a datareader over the same
database it appears that the data has now gone.
I wondered whether...

I've created a lookup class for a windows form application and I'm stuck on
how on using the collection object. The process is simple, if the item is in
the collection then return that object, if the item is not in the collection
then create the item from a value in the database, then return it.

All I want to to be able to take a two-column DataReader (One column with
the Item ID number, the other with Item Description text) and load it into a
Windows Forms ComboBox (Set to DropDownList mode) so that I the dropdown
shows the Item Descriptions, but returns the Item ID number when selected.
Completely easy in ASP.NET, but I cannot figure out how to do the same in a
Windows Forms app. Obviously the Windows Forms ComboBox is a lot more...

Hi!
Once again I have hit a brick wall here. I have a combobox in which
the user types the server name and then clicks on button 'CONNECT' to
populate the next combobox which contains all the databases in that
server. Then after the user selects a database, I have another button
that he/she click and I want to retrieve file groups from a specific
table. At this point when he/she clicks on that button I get an

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
