I maintain various specs and FAQs in manually edited HTML documents,
and I'd very much like some simple way of automatic section numbering
as in 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2 etc, with table of contents generation
plugged into the start of the document so that each section can be
accessed via a link (and also maybe automatic footnote numbering).
It doesn't seem too much to ask, and I could probably whump up a
script myself in a couple of days....

I have long looked for (and occasionally posted
questions to groups such as this about) a tool
that can take a group of HTML pages (nowadays
XHTML, or XML) and produce a nicely formatted
printable documented, featuring.
* pagination
* section numbering
* including Dewey decimal section numbering
such as Section 1.2.3 for H3

Has anyone had any problems with inter-office automation between MS Word and
MS Access in Office 2003?
I have recently installed office 2003 in a new folder and have left the

I have an application that has an Access table that stores the locations of
slides in a Powerpoint file. This used to work fine when there were about 4
files and 200 slides. The database would open all four PPT files at once,
and would loop through queriers for ever client and create custom
presentations. Now there are 8 files, nearly 500 slides and the computer is
bogging down with trying to open them all at once.

I tried to fix a problem for a client today in which report sections and even
individual text controls in some of their reports are being split across page
boundaries. Of course, I was thinking the answer was just going to be setting
some Keep Together properties to Yes. Alas, it was not to be.
