automatic update problem

I have win xp home, automatic updates set for auto at 3:00 am. The download
and install happens. (Proved by looking on web update history and in windows
directory) however the yellow icon w/ the exclamation point shows up in the
tray to manually install the same updates. Also most of the last several
updates show up several times as completed in both the event viewer and the
update history on Microsoft update.

This is very annoying. Does anyone know how to fix?

I'll keep it very simple. Step 1 to get help is to post your issue in a
group for that issue. This is the C++ programming group.

You'll have better luck asking a Windows question in an Windows group,
rather then in this .NET programming group:

To find the group you need:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...D-2224A4FEB3EA

Then open your language in the TreeView on the left, scroll down to
"Windows", open and scroll down to "Windows XP", and
select a group from that category.

I apologize for wasting your time. The "keep it simple stupid" remark is a
signature. Not meant to offend. I will go ahead and post in the proper
group. Thanks for letting me know.

No apologies needed :)
I'm not trying to shoo you away. I'm just trying to get you to the group
that will be interested in, and have suggested fixes for your problem.

Hi, It's no problem to define the automatic maintenance using the wizard but I want to use commands to automate automation. I captured the SQL statements when activating the maintenance but that didn't help. I couldn't find anything about it in the docs so if anybody could help with this it would be great. Kind regards, Gert

Maybe this feature is already out there. I guess you could write triggers to do some of this. Often when designing a database I add a start_date and end_date column to the table. The start_date is when the record was created and the end_date is when the record expired. For UPDATES, I populate the end_date and INSERT a new record. This allows you to track changes though out time. I do this so often I thought it would be a good idea for...

Hello. System: Win XP Media Centre Edition – Service Pack 3 Somehow, I picked up a variant of VirtuMonde; Symantec Anti-virus, Spybot Search & Destroy etc did not locate it; I discovered it by chance using Windows Sysinternals Process Explorer. I ran Vundo Fix 7.0.0.6 and it removed three traces of VirtuMonde, I then rebooted and ran Vundo Fix 7.0.0.6 again, this time it found nothing.

Hi I have this code which i thought was perfect maybe a bit of a mess but it works. The only problem is that the rst!PONo does not look at the table properly and generate a continuing number, which i fine but i would prefer it to fill in the blanks plus carryon from the last record in the table. Also the last problem is that assigning this PONo to relevant records within a loop procedures works sometimes and then doesn't. Here is the code: ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
