Hi, I have been using several http server code examples from the web, include one from msdn, and I can't seem to get a simple http server thread working. I can connect the server successful using IE6 and following url: http://127.0.0.1:5050 But when I attempt a second connect the windows symbol in the upper right corner of ie starts in motion and nothing happens it just sits there waiting for a response. The code also behaves very...

Our .Net application calls a web method of aplpication 2 that resides on their Apache server. When I as a developer C#, Studios 2003, make the call to their web method from my desktop, I receive no exceptions - completes fine. Their web service url was added as a web reference to our project with no problem. The following was generated as part of the proxy class: /// <remarks/> public DueDateAvailabilityResponse...

I need a work-around for an IE limitation, regarding fetching HTTP documents in the background. It takes a bit of explaining; please be patient... I'm working on an project that will run on an intranet. I need to have pages be reloaded automatically when the data they reflect is changed at the server. For Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox, I do this by having the page use JavaScript to read a special "/update.html" URL in the background. For...

Hi All, I've recently been intrigued with this notion of "Service Streaming": http://ajaxpatterns.org/HTTP_Streaming in which you make use of the webserver and browsers ability to maintain a connection using a loop on the web server. I know those of you familiar with how IIS/asp.net (aspnet_isapi.dll) handles HttpApplication threads (a pool) are probably very offended by this

Hi All, I'm hoping to try to solve this error. I'm currently putting together a little web app, but I need it to work under both IE6, IE7, Mozilla, etc... Although the formatting is off for some pages, I suspect that's due to issues with IE6. I'm hoping to use the app on the company network, and most of our computers have to stay at IE6 until the powers that be say we can upgrade to IE7. Anyways, here's the BIG error in my case. On...

In IIS I set up a virtual directory with secure communication, I checked require secure channel, require 128-bit encryption. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
