Invoke Web service with filename paramater

Hi All,
I am trying to invoke a webservice and a webmethod (exposed by the WS)
from the browser which accepts an xml file as a parameter. Can I
specify a filename in the parameter? If yes, whats the probable syntax

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Kays

What do you mean that the web service "accepts an xml file as a parameter"?
What is the signature of the WebMethod? What does the WSDL look like?

Is there a way to set up Apache to invoke a PHP equest when a file (a image for example) is downloaded? Say, then, that http://www.foo.com/downloads/app1.zip is downloaded, Id like to have Apache in turn invoke a PHP script which may be used to write a log. Thanks, Joshua

Here is my basic problem. I have a form that executes a cpu instensive algorithm occupying the first thread. When the algorithm is executed another form pops up telling the user the progress that has been made. Whenever I attempt to update my frmProgress, the events are put placed at the end of the thread's queue and executed after my algorithm is finished. Using the frmProgress.Label.Invoke method with delagates, I have heard would fix...

Hi, I'm in a middle of writing something like 'exception handler wraper' for a set of different methodes. The case is that I have ca. 40 methods form web servicem, with different return values (and types), and with out parmeters. What I want to do is to support each method call with exception (http 404, soap exception, and other types of exceptions) and wrap it with try & catch (a lots of catch ;-)

Open Visual Studio and create a new ASP.NET Web Services Project. Uncomment the test webmethod (Hello World) in the .asmx file, set as starup file, save and build project and run. Click on the Hello World link in the web page that appears. Co-workers recieve the expected page but I get an error similar to this in the web page (http://localhost/MytestService/Service1.asmx/HelloWorld) System.IO.FileNotFoundException: File or assembly name...

hi ng, i try to invoke a webservice-method with an filter-object, that contains value types. if i don´t want to filter the return value of the method, i have to pass a new instance of the filter-object without setting any properties. but the value type-properties can´t be null and the filter is set to 0 (int) or false (bool). therefore i did implement the propertySpecified-pattern like this:

Hi. I've inherited a Web Service from a developer who is no longer here. One of the purposes of the service was to clear the cache on the server side. Up until a few days ago, it worked fine - I'd open up the service from my browser, select the appropriate function from the list, click the Invoke button and all worked well. One of the things I do each fiscal quarter is to make a change to the service, so it will return the correct...

Somebody I work with created a web service and of course it creates an asmx page for the web service. When you open this page up on the browser it gives you a kind of tester page where you can enter parameters and invoke and test the web service and get back xml to see what the output xml looks like. I guess it creates this page fon the wdsl. That works fine when I use it on a local machine, but when I go to a remote machine, it gives the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
